Punk Squad emerged from the obscure Miami underground scene. Inspired by the eye-brow raising creativity, uniqueness, and unbridled self-expression of the eccentric characters it attracts, the artist sought to capture the spirit of the alternative subculture in her playful designs. After actively spending nearly a decade within the local gothic circle, her love for things unconventional prompted her to create a line of fashion, or anti-fashion for that matter, that would bridge the gap between old-school and the new. |

Often times, those who are part of the alternative scene are misunderstood, stereotyped, and portrayed as misfits and villains as it is not uncommon for society to frown upon what it does not understand or what is deemed “different” by the status quo. But nothing could be farther from the truth. The alternative scene is a wide global subculture teeming with artists, poets, thespians, musicians, writers, and brilliant thinkers of every kind. Every single LiL’ Punk is a composite of the numerous personalities the artist has encountered along the way in her own experience within the scene. Early on, through her interactions she discovered the limitless realm of creativity and brilliance that lay hidden in the underground world. She can only hope that the traits, values, and genius she gathered from actual people and ascribed to each of her characters serve to dispel many of the negative myths. |
