| Now if y'all remember, we came here to retirement life Then it was just Cowboy, Buffy and Cowboy's wife Things were going well in the winter of 2001 We were so happy, as our new life had begun It didn't stay that way for L'il Angel Reb, Buffy and Cowboy The Lord thought we needed more, and sent Bear; what a joy First there was the training, and many a sleepless night It really gave us laughter; the next morning was a sight |

| Along with these dogs, this place came with fish A place to relax by, and perhaps make a wish Filled with Oscar, she's a Koi you know This kept Cowboy busy and on the go Bear had a lot to learn, for he came from the wild He was worse than any baby child Always on the look out, and curiousity he'd be I just knew I had my work cut out for me |

| We went thru the season, no problems of such Then came this spring, losing Oscar; we miss her so much Ric tended to the gardens; found a small hole in the ground I tried to tell him everything wasn't easy and sound One day we sat under the gazebo to enjoy the day Quietly Bear played, yet Buffy went on her way Bear needed to watch her, and followed her close by Then he came to a halt, never knowing what came his way |

| He layed down quietly, to watch this sneaking black snake He knew he had to protect us, for his sake He watched and barked, bring us to find him there Watching closely as this snake didn't care Cowboy remained on the swing that day L'il Angel Reb knew she had to go her way Lord, you gave me the scare of my life Has to be something better to do for this loving wife |

| Quietly I screamed bring Cowboy to his knees Calling the dogs to me, I said, Cowboy, gun, please Getting the dogs and me quickly in the house We watched just as quiet as a mouse Cowboy got his bebe rifle and the battle did start As for snake got closer; faster went my heart Cowboy shot that snake down from the big oak tree Once again things are great, living here in the country |
