I've decided to dedicate this entry to sharing some "Entertainment News" from the life of Lucas.

Not sure why, but I just felt like doing it. So, here goes:

Anime News:

As some of you know, and others may not, at college, I enjoy watching anime. I found out, after coming home, that I also enjoy watching it at home. So, I'm currently watching 5 anime series from the Cartoon Network (or "aired on the Cartoon Network" to be more precise).

1. Kikaider - a good anime series about an android that wants to be human, and fights various robotic monsters. Very reminiscent of Power Rangers, though...

2. Inu Yasha - I enjoy this one a lot. It's just a good anime balance. Some weirdness, but not too weird. Good level of humor, etc.

3. Reign: the Conqueror - I've only seen two episodes so far. Basically, take Alexander the Great and make him "kind of" in space. It's really bizarre, and I haven't figured it out yet. It's also super-serious. Funny thing is, I think I might keep watching it just so I can hopefully figure it out.

4. Lupin III - Also only seen two episodes. This one is a really old series. It's also quite funny. I'm enjoying it, actually. Even if the animation isn't that great...

5. Rurouni Kenshin - A really good series, I'm discovering. I highly suggest it. 6:30PM Cartoon Network M-F Watch it. No, I mean it.

Moving on, then...

In movie news, I watched The Lost World (Doyle's, not Jurassic Park) with my dad the other day. It was a well done movie. Here are just some miscellaneous facts:

-Good quote: "I don't know if there's a God. But, I do know that man is no substitute if there isn't." (Isn't that great??)

-Bad philosophy: The end of the movie kind of poses the question: Is science meant to discover facts and truth or to protect the subject that it studies? It answered in the latter. Personally, I must disagree. The purpose of studying something is to discover the truth about it, NOT so you can protect it! The conclusion implied that if revealing the truth about something will endanger it, it is better to hide the truth. Just so you know, in a court of law, that's called perjury.

*sigh* Okay, that was a little rant.

In other news...

I was thinking about how bad a movie Hackers is today... See, work gets REALLY boring, so I think about things. Today, I was thinking about the fact that Hackers is in no way a good movie. The plot makes little to no sense. And, in the small ways that it does make sense, it is terribly simple. It's pretty rare for a plot to lack BOTH coherency AND complexity. But, they did it. The characterization was horrible. I could never figure out motivation because the characters just weren't consistent. The writing left much to be desired. (Despite the fact that my friends that I watched it with claimed that it had "such good one liners". I saw one. "The pool has a leak." That was it.) In short, I've seen the movie once. And that was more than enough, thank you.
