Weekly Vocabulary Assignment

Due every Thursday 

1. While you are reading your Accelerated Reader book, look for interesting/difficult words. Words that you may not yet be familiar with.
2. Choose 10 words each week to make into flash cards.
3. On the front of the card, write the word and the part of speech that it belongs to in the sentence you took it from.
4. On the back of the card write the sentence you found the word in and the definition of the word (for the usage in the sentence – not the shortest definition).
5. Memorize the 10 words, the part of speech, the sentence, and the dictionary definition),
6. Bring the cards with you each Thursday – you will be individually tested on your memorization of the words, the part of speech, the definition, and the sentence.
7. These are cumulative, so the second week you will be tested on 20 words, the third week 30 words, etc.
8. You will not be expected to have an additional 10 words the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
