Singapore - Kansai International Airport

Day 2 Osaka
Our first stop was Universal Studios Japan. In the evening, we went to Shinsaibashi, Osaka's busiest shopping district.

Day 3
We moved on to the Shima Peninsula. That is where Ise and Toba are located. Ise is well known of its most sacred Shinto shrines. We went to see Meotoiwa, the "Wedded Rocks", two sacred rocks in the ocean near Futami, a small town south of Ise. The two rocks represent husband and wife and are connected by shimenawa rope. The Okitama Shrine stands nearby. We then went to Oharaimachi, the old street leading to the Inner Shrine of Ise. It is lined by many Edo period style buildings, some of which are originals while others are recent reconstructions. On to Toba-city -- Mikimoto Pearl Island, home of the world-famous Mikimoto pearls, this island is where Kokichi Mikimoto developed the world's first cultured pearls.

Day 4
In the morning, we took shinkansen (bullet train) from Toyohashi to Hamamatsu. We had our  lunch at a restaurant with a spectacular view of Lake Kawaguchi. Then we were off to Mt. Fuji 5th station and was it chilly!

Day 5
We woke up very early to take turns to experience the hotel's onsen (hotspring) while JW was still asleep. After our breakfast, we headed to Sanrio Puroland and then to Yokohama Chinatown. In the evening, we shopped at Shinjuku.

Day 6
We spent the day at Tokyo Disneyland.
Accommodation: Narita Garden Hotel

Day 7
We went to Aeon Mall, Narita for some last minute shopping and lunch. Then we left for Narita International Airport.
