ALL ABOUT ..... Prata
PRATA! the simple flat piece of Indian bread... so nondescript yet subsubstantial. Many prata shops are scattered across Singapore. Some are good, some claim to be good. There are many versions too - the crispy type, the elastic type, the floury type. Then there's also different types of gravies that go along with a good prata - fish curry, chicken curry, meat curry, or dalcha. Whatever your pick, a good prata and that sugar quenching   mama teh tarik simply starts a day like no breakfast can.
Here's our thoughts on some prata outlets.
PASIR RIS MALL, where Seng Song Supermarket is - Tucked away in a small corner on the second level food court (beside the lift) lies this humble, non-descript mama stall selling top class prata. Unknown to many, this stall carries a highly delicious crispy prata version in generous sizes, unlike their Thomson road counterparts. Choose from their fish or chicken curry, both thick, spicy and tasty. This stall is our number one pick for great prata!

THE PRATA HOUSE, Thomson  Road - this outlet is forever busy. Get there early or you'll have difficulty finding a place to eat. They cary a thick cut super crispy prata complete with thick, rich, spicy curry. Eating one is not enough! The snag? Well their prata comes in these  minute sized circles that are simply a cuthroat. Try it if you're feeling generous with your wallet!

MARHABA RESTAURANT, Joo Chiat - This is more of a road side coffee shop then a restaurant pe se. The teh is powerrr and the prata tho not so crispy is pretty good when soaked in their fish curry. Their curries are somewhat watery though they make up for it by having great flavour. Stop there for a lepak during late nights. Its surprisingly relaxing.
