Transform Into a Star

I sat in the dimly lit room and watched the green glow from the computer. Heero sat in front of the machine while his koibito annoyed him, although anyone with eyes could see that he was enjoying the useless chatter from the longhaired pilot.

Quatre and Trowa were sitting on the spare bed curled up in each other's arms. I of course had my usual stance, leaning against the wall with my arms crossed over my chest.

"Everyone, listen up." The Japanese pilot turned around in his chair and faced the group, "We are to investigate a high school in the kingdom of Lunar. Unfortunately for Trowa, Quatre, Duo and I they are not fond of homosexuals. Which means two of us will have to disguise our selves as females."

"But why would people of a well known nation be against something that no one can control?" the blond questioned. He had always been the one to speak his mind on such matters, I have to admit, he's a lot stronger than we all give him credit for.

"That's one of the things we are to check out, but first we need to decide who is going to be female." He turned his gaze to Quatre, "Don't take this the wrong way, but you are way more feminine than Trowa. Do you see where I'm going?"

"Yes.. ." he pouted, "This will be like when I was kid." He continued his complaints as Heero continued.

"Duo.. ."

"Say no more Heero, I'll do it."

"Really?"

The Deathscythe pilot sighed as he jumped into the other pilot's lap, "Yeah, I can never say no to you!"

"Well, we all no that.. ." I mumbled, luckily no one heard me.

"At any rate, I have gotten the school uniforms and we will be staying in the dorms. Please remember, this is a private school." He tossed a bag to Duo and another to Quatre, "We're leaving in two hours. That should give you enough time to get changed."

They nodded and walked towards the bathroom.

"Yuy?" I spoke up.

"Hn."

"There's got to be something that you're not telling us."

He shook his head, "I'm not hiding anything. Those were all the orders Dr. J and the other geezers had sent us."

"Okay. What about their identities?"

"Duo's new name Kasumi Maxwell."

I turned and faced the uni-banged pilot, "What about Winner?"

"His name is Terra Yuy."

"Yuy? Why are you using Yuy's last name?"

Heero chuckled a little. Although, I must admit I was startled by the unexpected sound, "He's using my last name because he can't use his. And using Trowa's could mean they are brother and sister, and you know that would give them a bad image. We could have used Duo's last name, but since Quatre and I have the space heart I feel that it's only right to make it seem like he's my sibling."

"Hm.. ." I just nodded in response. I really couldn't think of anything to say, although saying 'hm' was something. I just got off the wall and strolled out the door to get ready for our new mission.

While walking down the hall, I had approached the bathroom. And while my passing I heard Duo and Quatre discussing the assignment.

"I can't believe we're doing this, Duo.. ."

"What? Shaving your legs and pits aren't that bad."

"I'm not talking about that. I mean dressing up like girls. I know I have more feminine qualities than most guys, but still.. ."

"Don't sweat it. This mission will be over before you know it. And you might get some other uses out of this school girl outfit. If you know what I mean..."

I pulled myself away from the door after I heard the blond giggle. With that one fraise from Duo, I was sure the hallway would be covered in blood. Not even wanting to chance the nosebleed, I decided to get changed into my uniform and pack some of my stuff.

The two hours had passed and we were all in the truck, driving to the new location.

The whole way there I had the urge to laugh. Duo was trying to get his make up on and Quatre was making sure his blond wig was on straight, while at the same time trying to make sure he sat like 'a lady'.

After witnessing the quite amusing seen, I leaned back against the seat and shut my eyes. I really feel for those guys. Being in a place where no one understands love from another person's eyes, people can be such bigots. Perhaps that's the way a lot of people see me, as a sexist bigot. All this tension of the mission, not to mention their sex drive, it's all going to take its toll on them.. .

Weeks had passed since our arrival in the kingdom of Lunar. Things didn't seem out of the ordinary. We all went to classes, ate lunch, did work, everything was normal. Until one day.. .

I was running late for my Japanese class, no thanks to Kasumi (Duo). Leave it to that person to talk non-stop. I heaved a heavy sigh as I ran through the empty halls.

I was three hallways away from being in my classroom when something caught my eye; a girl with brown hair that went passed her knees and she was wearing the blue and black school uniform, but it was rather torn, was lying on the floor.

I ran to her side and held her in my arms, "Can you hear me?" I asked. I didn't get an answer. Not wanting anymore harm to come to her, I picked her and her stuff up and carried her to the nurse's office.

I stopped in the doorway and looked at the woman behind the desk, "Excuse me."

She turned her attention to me and gasped, "Oh my.. ." she walked over to me and looked the girl over, "Put her in that room over there."

I nodded and did as requested. After doing that she gave me a hall pass and told me to retrieve two other girls; Arashi Ishida and Fiona Tempest.

I walked into the gym and handed the note that came along with pass to one of the teachers.

"Fiona, Arashi!" he called.

The two girls in questioned ran up to the teacher. One of the girls had long black hair and hazel eyes, the other had short chestnut brown hair that was styled like Heero's and green eyes.

The teacher handed them the note and a hall pass, "You two are wanted in the infirmary."

They nodded and ran out of the gym. I followed with a much slower pace only to have Terra (Quatre) grab my arm.

"What's going on?"

"I found a girl in the hallway and brought her to the nurse. Nothing big."

"Well, Heero just wanted to know. Don't forget we have to discuss our findings in a couple of hours."

"I know, but I doubt any of us had found much of anything." With that I walked away and into my classroom.

Near the end of the class, the teacher had asked to speak to me out side. While making my way to the door the class let out an 'ooooooo' I just muttered something in Chinese and left the room.

The teacher let a small smile cross her lips, "You're not in trouble, WuFei."

"Then what's this regarding?"

"I would like you to tutor one of the students. She has been out of school do to some incident. It would mean a lot if you would help her catch up with her work."

I nodded, "Fine. Tell her to come to my dorm."

It was lunchtime and the other pilots and I sat together. We made small talk, but the only topic that seemed to be consistent was that Kasumi (Duo) and Terra (Quatre) hating the way they looked in the uniforms.

About fifteen minutes into the meal, the girl with long black hair and hazel eyes approached the table.

"Excuse me, are you the one who brought my friend to the nurse?"

I nodded and looked up at her, "Why?"

"Arashi and I just wanted to thank you. The girl you found has had it rough for the passed few months. It means a lot to us that you were kind enough to get her some help."

"It was the honorable thing to do."

She smiled and nodded, "Oh how rude of me. I haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Fiona Tempest."

"I'm WuFei Chang and these are my friends," I pointed to each one, "Heero Yuy and his sister Terra Yuy although you probably know them from your gym class, Kasumi Maxwell and Trowa Barton."

"Nice to meet you. Hey Heero?"

"Hn?"

"Are you seeing anyone?"

"Why?"

"Because Arashi likes you.. ."

"Yes, I'm seeing someone."

"Oh, well there was no harm in asking, now telling Arashi the news could mean that I'll end up dead."

I smirked at the statement. I shook my head a little before turning my attention back to the girl.

Fiona just grinned, "Well I'll see you guys around. And thanks again for saving her high.. . err.. . my friend." With that she ran out of the cafeteria.

I sat in the dorm waiting for the student I was to tutor. A few minutes ago the other pilots came in to talk to me about where we were to meet, my response was that I was going to be late and that they could go out for a couple of hours.

I was starting to change out of the school uniform. I just smirked a little. Kasumi (Duo) was jealous of the fact that the male uniform was just like 'her' normal clothing. I finished changing into my regular clothes just as I heard a small knock at the door.

I approached the door and opened it. On the other side was a girl with long brown hair that passed her knees and bright blue eyes. She wasn't in her school uniform either, instead she wore a light blue blouse, a pair of black dress pants and black boots. I looked her over one more time, "It's you.. ." I gasped.

She gave me a strange look for a moment, then let a gentle smile appear on her face, "You were the one who brought me to the nurse?"

I nodded and moved to the side, "Please come in."

She walked in and set her books down on the bed as I shut the door. She giggled a little, "Fiona told me that it was a cute Chinese guy that saved me."

"How are you feeling?"

"Better. I have a few black and blue marks, but I have meds that take the pain away." She sat down next to her books and continued to smile at me, "I'm Hoshi.. . Hoshi Kaze."

"I'm WuFei, but since you talked to Fiona I guess you already knew that." I sat next to her and took out her Japanese textbook, "Lets get started."

An hour and a half later.. .

"Okay, I want you to say my phone number is.. . and give me the number, alright?"

"Okay, um.. . Watashi no denwa bango wa; go, go, go, no san, roku, yon, zero." (555-3640)

I nodded, "I'll remember that." I glanced at the clock, "Do you want to take a break?"

"I'd love to."

I got off my bed and put on a CD. Soon the room was full of the sounds of one of my favorite JPop groups.

Hoshi smiled, "You like EMU?"

"Their songs are very relaxing."

"Hm.. . Arashi likes them too. Although she's obsessed with Hikaru Midorikawa."

I chuckled and sat back down again, "I have a few things I want to ask you."

"Shoot."

"Alright, why is this kingdom against homosexuals?"

"It's not. This kingdom has been supportive of the lifestyle of its people. A few months ago this man from the next kingdom over, came here and threatened everyone, including the royal family. You see this guy isn't against all homosexual relationships, he's only against shounen ai."

"In other words he supports hiet and lesbians."

"Bingo. He's been the cause of my pain as well."

"How is he involved?" I knew in the back of my mind I shouldn't have asked something so personal, but to my surprise she answered me.

"He's basically my ex-boyfriend. You see I had another boyfriend and this guy become very jealous and killed my boyfriend right in front of me. He then told me that he and I would become a couple and if I refused he'd take it out on my friends and family."

"What happened?"

"Well, I told him to leave them out of it and that I was never going to be his girlfriend and that he needed to get over himself. And that's when it started, almost three times a week he would send his goons after me. They would ask if I was going to change mind and I said no. After the answer was given they beat me."

"What's this guys name?"

"Kurai. Kurai Aoikawa. The only reason he sends his flunkies is because he's not man enough to do it himself. He's just trying to break my spirit and I'll tell you one thing, I won't let him win."

She got off the bed with her books in hand and made her way to the door. I could see her hands starting to tremble as her books crashed to the floor. She gripped the wall and fell to her knees, putting her free hand to her forehead.

"Are you all right?" I asked as I knelt beside her.

"Yeah. I'm not used to my meds yet and, so they tend to make me drowsy and somewhat shaky."

I put my arms around her and helped her to her feet, "Do you want me to help you back to your dorm?"

"No. If it's okay I would like to stay with you."

I could only nod. No woman has ever said something like that to me before. I helped her over to the bed and laid her down. As I turned to move away she grabbed my arm.

"Please, don't leave me alone.. ."

I nodded again and laid down beside her, to my surprise she moved closer to me and fell right to sleep. I looked at her again and smiled one last time before I too fell asleep.

The next morning I awoke and saw the longhaired girl sitting on the edge of the bed. I sat up and looked at her, "How'd you sleep?"

"Great. It was the best night sleep I've gotten in a long time." She got off the mattress and picked up her things, then faced me again, "Thank you for all you've done, but I have to go, Fiona and Arashi must be worried about me. Considering all that's happened to me, they probably think I'm lying dead in a gutter somewhere." She walked towards the door, then stopped in her tracks, "I'll see you again.. ." then without another word, she left.

I got out of bed and changed into a clean pair of clothes. Once I was done getting changed, someone knocked on the door. People must have really good timing.. .

I opened the door and saw my fellow pilots on the other side. They each had somewhat of a crossed look on their faces, "What?"

They continued their glares when it hit me, "I forgot the meeting.. ." I mumbled, but they still heard me.

"You're damn right you did!" Kasumi squealed.

"Gomen.. ." I moved aside and let my comrades inside, "So, what did you find out?" I shut the door and sat down on my bed next to Terra.

"Nothing useful." The Japanese boy responded.

"Well, I did get some information."

"From who or what?" Trowa questioned.

"From the girl I was tutoring. We were taking a break from her studies and I asked her a question."

Kasumi arched an eyebrow, "What did she say?"

I filled them in on what Hoshi had said to me. They just stared at me for a moment. Terra was the first to break the silence, "Why does your pillow smell like perfume?"

"Uhh.. ."

"Something happened with that girl didn't it?" the violet eyed 'girl' moved closer to me, "Did you rock her world?"

"No. What kind of guy do you take me for?!"

Heero moved closer to his lover and looked at me in a very confused manner, "It's just rare to see you with a woman. Let alone to see you somewhat embarrassed."

"I'm not embarrassed!"

"Then why are you blushing?" the blond asked as 'she' pointed to my face.

I buried my face in my hands and took a deep breath then I looked at my friends, "Nothing happened. She was feeling drowsy and she started to shake. She asked if she could stay with me and I said it was okay. After she told me what's been going on, she became a little afraid, so I laid down with her and we slept. As you can see nothing happened."

Kasumi nodded, "Uh huh, whatever. I can tell when somebody just got lucky."

"Well we all know it wasn't you.. ." I glared at 'her', "You can think whatever you want, but Hoshi and I will be the only ones to know what happened. Now if you don't mind, can we change the subject?"

"Well, your information was only a piece of the puzzle. The other pieces can be obtained if we get to talk to the royal family." The Latin pilot explained.

"And how do you intend for us to pull that off?" I questioned.

The pilot of Wing approached me, "Like this." He handed me a sheet of paper, "We'll volunteer to be the princesses' body guards."

"Do you really think this will work, Yuy?"

"It has to, if it doesn't we'll be out of options."

After a moment to process, we left the dorm and made our way to the castle of Lunar.

The castle looked amazing from the outside, but once we were in the whole scene was even more breath taking.

On each side of the walls were portraits of the former kings and queens of the nation.

We continued to stand in the hall, when one of the royal guards came up to the five of us, "State your business."

"We are volunteering to be the princess' guards." Heero stated, although in my opinion I think he said that way too calmly.

The soldier nodded and turned around on his heels, "Please, let me escort you to the thrown to meet his majesty, King Alexander Tenkawa."

We followed him silently. He opened the large wooden doors to the thrown room. We stepped inside and the guard bowed before his superior, "Your majesty, these five courageous people are taking up the task of being the princess' guards."

The king stood up from his thrown, he looked at us and then back at the soldier, "Retrieve my daughter at once."

"Sir." He bowed again before hightailing it out of the chamber.

"Tell me," the king sat back down, "why would you risk your lives to protect my daughter?"

We looked at each other. We formed a small circle and whispered amongst our selves.

"Heero, what do we do? We can't tell him the truth, can we?" Kasumi asked 'her' koibito.

The Japanese boy sighed a little and shook his head, "No."

"Heero," the blond cut in, "I don't know if you realize this, but we are being somewhat rude to the king."

I broke away from the group and knelt down before the king, "Your majesty, we have no motive behind our action. The consequences could be grave if we do not go through with this. The well being of this country and its people are my, no our only concern and the princess is the future of this country." I looked up just in time to see his Excellency applaud.

"That was a very noble statement young man. You five are the perfect people to protect my daughter and maybe you could teach her a few things."

The soldier from before, came running in and knelt before him again. The king nodded, "May I present to you, my daughter," The curtains from behind the thrown spread apart and revealed a girl wearing an aqua gown, a tiara that seemed to resemble a crown and a crescent moon pendant "Princess Hoshi Tenkawa."

The girl looked up and revealed her bright blue eyes and my eyes got a little bit wider, "H.. . Hoshi?" I managed.

Kasumi looked at her highness, then at me, then back at the girl, "You slept with th.. ." 'she' was cut off by 'her' koibito's hand.

"Sorry, she's like this every time she doesn't get her coffee." Heero explained.

Hoshi giggled and looked at me, "WuFei.. ."she murmured and then looked at her father, "Father, can I speak to them in the back yard?"

He nodded. She walked down the stairs and stopped in front of the door, "Follow me please."

We acknowledged and followed her. She led us to the back-court and it was mainly a flower garden.

She stopped in her tracks, "I told you I'd see you again.. ."

Kasumi once again looked at me, then at Hoshi, then back at me, "YOU SLEPT WITH THE PRINCESS?!?!?!?!"

"You what?!" came another voice. The person stepped out from one of the trees.

My eyes widened once more, "Fiona?"

"That's me."

"Baka. Show respect to our new collogues." Came a second voice. She came out from behind a different tree.

Heero looked her over carefully, "Arashi Ishida and Fiona Tempest. What are you two doing here?"

The green-eyed girl sighed, "It should be obvious."

"You're volunteering to be the princess' guards too?" Kasumi questioned.

"No. We are the bodyguards. We've been protecting her for the past few years."

The Latin pilot stepped forward and looked at Fiona, "Then why do you need volunteers?"

"Because, the other soldiers, not to mention the king don't believe that it's Kurai causing all this trouble."

Terra looked at the three girls, "Do you have any kind of protection? I mean you don't look like you're well armed."

"Don't worry about these two. Arashi can use ice/water magic, but she's mainly a summoner and Fiona wields powerful wind and lightning magic, but she's our main swords man."

"That's right. You get in the way of my magic you'll end up hurt, but face me with my sword, you won't see the next day."

"What about you, Hoshi?" I asked. The look on her face had told me that I had crossed a line, but she just sighed answered.

"I can't talk about that on castle grounds. If you are willing, I will take you to a place where no one can bother us and we'll explain everything."

We nodded. The longhaired princess looked at Arashi, "Come with me."

"Ma'am." They walked back into the castle and we were to wait in the front of the castle.

We waited for a few minutes before Hoshi and Arashi approached us. They had changed their clothes and we waited for an additional five minutes to wait for Fiona to do the same.

After that we followed the princess and her court to a hill that over looked the kingdom. In my opinion the scenery was beautiful. We sat under a tree and let the shade block us from the sun. I took one more look around and spotted a lake near by.

My attention was brought back by the quiet question from the blond 'girl'.

"So what's the story?"

"I'm sure some of you have heard some stories about summoners."

We nodded. "What does that have to do with you?" I asked.

"Do you remember what I told you?"

I nodded. "It has to do with that. Arashi?"

"As you know summoners are supposed to have horns, but mine was ripped out. You see I was assigned to protect the prince of the next kingdom over. I was very happy with my job and the prince treated me very kindly however, when he got involved with Hoshi things started to get out of control."

Heero arched an eyebrow, "I don't follow."

"Kurai was obsessed with Hoshi and he was also the caption of the royal guards. One day while her highness was visiting the kingdom; Kurai killed the prince right in front of her and me. He was also the cause of the king and queen's deaths as well. Once he got them out of the way, he would have complete power over the kingdom, but that wasn't good enough for him. He wanted Hoshi, once he started to approach her I stepped in and told her to run and that's when it happened. He was blinded by his thirst for power that he thought he could become a summoner just by ripping off my horn. After that I had volunteered to be a guard for the princess, it was the only thing I knew I could do considering I couldn't protect his highness."

"Okay, that explains that, but why is Kurai here?" the Japanese boy questioned.

"Because he's after me. He told my father that it was on the royal family's request that he takes my hand in marriage. So now he's after me and the thrown. My father refuses to believe that this 'man' is a threat."

"Is there anything else that's not to be discussed on castle grounds?"

"Yes, and that is the fact that I'm a mage. A magic user if you will. The only reason that this is not allowed on castle grounds is because my father believes that it was the magic that killed my mother, but before she died she taught me all that she knew about magic. And now my father has forbade me to use it." she stood up and walked over to a moss covered stone. She knelt down in front of it and wiped of the greenery, "This is my mother's grave."

I walked up behind her and put a hand on her shoulder, "I still have one question; why didn't you say the prince's name?"

"Because, the people from the other kingdom think that we were the ones who killed him."

"I understand." I helped her to her feet and we faced the group.

Hoshi looked at 'Terra' rather strangely, "Who are you?"

"Terra Yuy."

"Hm.. ." she walked away from me and approached the blond. She raised her hand took off 'her' wig, "Quatre Winner, why are you dressed like this?"

"Because it was the only way I could be with Trowa."

She nodded and turned her gaze to 'Kasumi', "And you?"

"Uh.. ."

"Need I mind you that it isn't right to lie to a princess. And," she pointed to a small bulge in 'Kasumi's' skirt, "appearances don't lie."

'She' blushed and covered the noticeable spot, "I'm Duo Maxwell. And before you ask, I'm gay too."

"Thought so." She smiled a little, "How about we stop by the school so you can get changed into some comfortable clothes then I'll treat you to lunch."

We agreed. I walked up to the princess and offered her my arm. She smiled a little more as we walked with our friends arm and arm.

We made it to the street where the school was when we noticed smoke. Not even questioning one another, we quickened our pace. We stopped in front of the school that was now in ruins.

There were numerous bodies lying on the ground. We slowly patrolled the area.

"Hoshi!" Arashi called.

We ran over to the summoner. She stood up and pointed to a piece of paper on the ground next to one of the corpses.

The paper was wet and whoever wrote it had a twisted sense of humor because they had written the note in blood and it read;

"Father!" she turned around and hightailed it back to the castle, with the rest of us right behind her.

We made it back within a few minutes. I watched the princess run up to thrown room and stop.

"Hoshi?" I questioned.

"I better not find my father dead behind this door.. ."

I nodded and all of us entered the thrown room. We could see a figure sitting in the thrown, Hoshi walked away from us and approached the person. She sighed in relief, "Father.. ."

"Hoshi, what's the matter?"

"Nothing, I just thought Kurai might have done something to you."

"That's enough Hoshi. Kurai has been protecting the castle."

"But Father.. ."

"Hoshi, I don't want to hear anymore. Now, go get ready for the dance."

"But.. ."

"Now!"

"Yes sir.. ." she walked away from her father and went to her room with us close in tow.

"What dance is he talking about?" Duo asked.

"There was going to be a dance at the school, but since the building was destroyed I guess Father had it moved here."

Arashi faced us and looked at Quatre and Duo, "There are some clothes you can wear in the room to the left of this one."

They nodded and left along with Trowa and Heero.

"They better not do anything inappropriate for castle grounds." I muttered.

The longhaired princess laughed, "I take it that they have problems keeping themselves under control?"

"You could put it that way."

The summoner walked towards the door, "Just incase they are doing something, I'll be standing guard outside the room."

"You're not going to peek in, are you?"

"Of course not your highness." She bowed and left the room.
