    "Dr. Roger Dale Gehlbach, 58, of Vancouver, British Columbia, formerly of Lincoln, died suddenly Thursday, September 7, 2000, in Vancouver.

    Dr. Gehlbach had served as a full professor in the faculty of education at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.

    He grew up in Lincoln.  He attended Chester-East Lincoln Elementary School and graduated with honors from Lincoln Community High School.  He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois.  He secured his master's degree at the University of Michigan and received his doctorate of philosophy in the field of applied psychology at the University of Toronto, with further study in psycho-linguistics and early childhood education.

    Mr. Gehlbach was cremated.  A private memorial service will be held in Vancouver.
