Diverticulitis |
Diverticulitus is caused by small pouches in the colon. By themselves the pouches (called diverticula) may cause no symptoms. However they can divert digestive contents. If the intestinal contents remain inside them, the result is inflammation, infection, bleeding & pain. This can be a scary thing as I found out recently when my husband awakened me one night as he was having a considerable amount of rectal bleeding & pain. A subsequent colonostomy showed that he has diverticulitis, His condtion led me to study on what herbs & natural treatments were available. There is no cure but with diet changes & herbal remedies it can be managed |
