        Making herbal Extracts
Herbal extracts (also called tinctures) are very easy to make. They are sometimes more effective (faster acting) than capsules as they get immediatly into your bloodstream.

             Here's How
Combine herbs & 100 proof vodka  in a canning jar. The amount does not matter except you want to cover the herbs with at least 1 inch of the vodka. Shake. Store in a warm dark place like a cabinet. Shake every day. After 30 days strain & discard the herbs. Bottle. That's it. Easy! You can purchase the dark amber or cobalt blue dropper bottles from Jeans Greens listed under links on page 1.
           How to Capsule
Capsuling yourself is an excellent way to save money & you can blend herbs to just the proportion you want. Capsule makers are not expensive ($10-$15) & you can buy 1000 capsules for under $10. A coffee grinder comes in handy for grinding your own herbs & you can pick them up in any discount department store for about $15. If you are going to be growing your own herbs a dehydrater also comes in handy. However,  you might just want to check out the bulk prices at San Franciso Herb Co. (listed under links on page 1) You will be amazed at how many capsules you can get out of 1 pound of herbs. I once kept a loose count on a pound of echinaces & got approximately 3000 capsules out of it. So you can see it truly does save money. The capsule makers come with instructions (very easy) & you can buy them from the above mentioned San Francisco or Herbal Advantage.
