Linda's Herbal Remedies
Sage Plant
Sage
Sage is an herb many people use in cooking; but it can also be used medicially. It has been used for excessive perspiration, as a mouthwash for sore gums & it is also good for the digestion. It is high in calcium & potassium.

But the remedy that impresses me the most is the HOT FLASHES of menopause.I have tried many many remedies over that last year or so & folks, this is the ONE!! IT WORKS!!
How to use
This herb can be made into a tea as it has a relatively pleasant taste.
1 teaspoon dried herb for 1 cup tea
Drink or use as a mouthwash

It can also be made into capsules

For hot flashes & menopausal night sweats take 2 capsules daily to start.
Increase to 4 if needed.
How to Grow
Sage can be purchased as a small plant at nearly any garden center in the Spring.
it isn't fussy & doesn't even require a lot of water. This hardy perennial's leaves can be harvested from midsummer on. use fresh or dry & store in glass containers away from direct light. A sage plant will give you several good years growth if you cut it back severely in the early spring. After about the 3rd year you should replace it as it becomes woody & doesn't produce as many leaves.

Check out how to make it easily yourself on my lotions & potions pages.
How to Grow
Rosemary can be purchased at nearly any garden center in the spring. It is a tender perennial that when grown in the southern climates becomes a large bush-type plant. In the north it is mostly grown as an annual.

Harvest the leaves anytime & use fresh or dry & store.

It has a wonderful aroma that is used in aromatherapy & I have been seeing it in stores around the Christmas holidays trimmed to look like a minature Christmas tree. I keep one growing on my windowsill just for the aroma.
