Extra Stuff

This section of my page is called Extra Stuff. This section includes everything that is not found in the walkthrough, or any other sections of my page, including songs, weapon upgrades, hidden fairy fountains and more. If you know of any other goodies that aren't in this section, send them to me, and if they're good, I'll post them.

Extra Songs
Sun's Song - To get the Sun's Song, go to the Graveyard in Kakariko Village and stand on the Triforce Icon in front of the big grave. Play Zelda's Lullaby, and a secret tomb under the grave will be revealed. Jump down and go through the two rooms. In the first, you have to defeat all the Keese. Run through the second one, and when you reach a dead end, read the wall. With the Sun's Song, you have the ability to change day into night and vice versa in a matter of seconds.
Epona's Song - Epona's Song is found in Lon Lon Ranch as a child. Go up to Malon, who is standing in the middle of the pen, and talk to her three times. She'll tell you that her mother taught her a song. At this point, pull out the Ocarina, and Epona's Song is yours.
Scarecrow's Song - There are two parts in getting the Scarecrow's Song. First, go to Lake Hylia as a child, and play any combination of eight notes to Bonooru the scarecrow. Remember the notes that you played and re-visit Bonooru as an adult. Play the same combination of notes and it'll remember you. Now if you play those notes in certain areas of the game, Pierre, the other scarecrow, will appear. If you hit it with the hookshot/longshot, you will gain access to secret areas of the game.

How To Get Epona
The first step to getting Epona is to learn Epona's Song. When you become an adult, go to Lon Lon Ranch. You will find out that Ingo has taken over. Talk to him, and pay him to ride the horses. Once you're inside the pen, play Epona's Song and Epona will come galloping to you. Get on her. Ride around until your time is up, then pay to ride a horse again. Get on Epona and talk to Ingo. He'll challenge you to a race. Accept his challenge. To beat him, try to get in front of him, and stay in front of him by cutting him off so that there's no chance he'll pass you. Once you've defeated him, he'll challenge you again - this time Epona is the bet. If you beat him again you'll get Epona, but he won't let you leave. To get out of the ranch get some space to run and jump over a wall. This includes any of the three lower walls around the ranch, or the fence that Ingo is standing in front of. After this, Epona will be all yours. If you ever want to ride her, but you're not sure where she is, just play Epona's Song, and she'll come running to you.
Note: You can only ride Epona in Hyrule Field, Gerudo Valley, Gerudo Fortress, and Lake Hylia.

Great Fairy Fountain Locations
1. In Hyrule Field there is an odd-colored rock on the other side of a river near the castle. Beneath it is a secret grotto, housing a Fairy Fountain.
2. Pull back a tombstone in the Graveyard to find a hole. Jump down, and you'll find a group of fairies.
3. Near the entrance to Zora's River there is a circle of stones with a huge boulder in the middle. Blow up the boulder to reveal a secret grotto.
4. If you go to the very far end of the Sacred Forest Meadow and turn around you'll see a ladder. Climb up the ladder and you'll see a small hole. In the small hole is a grotto which leads to a fairy fountain.
5. In Zora's Domain, there is a small island in the middle of the water. On one side there is a secret grotto that you have to stand above and play the Song of Storms to find.
6. Behind some boxes and in front of one of the entrances to Gerudo Fortress there is a secret grotto. To open it, you have to play the Song of Storms.

Gifts From Great Fairies
Farore's Wind - Farore's Wind is located in Zora's Fountain. To get it, swim to the side opposite the entrance and you'll find a dead end. Blow up the wall and a small cave will be revealed. Inside is a Great Fairy who will give you Farore's Wind. Farore's Wind can only be used inside dungeons with maps. Use it once to create a warp point. Use it again to warp back to the original point that you created, or to dispel that point. This is useful if you don't know your way around different dungeons.
Extended Magic Meter - To get twice as much magic, go to Death Mountain Crater. You have to use the entrance through Darunia's Room. Turn left and you'll see a passageway that is blocked off by rocks. Destroy the rocks using the hammer and walk inside. A Great Fairy will give you twice as much magic as you had before.
Nayru's Love - If you walk along the wall nearest the Triforce Icon in the Desert Colossus, and move towards the entrance you'll see a small crack. Use a bomb here to blow up the wall and go inside the passage. A Great Fairy will give you Nayru's Love. When used, Nayru's Love makes Link temporarily invincible.
Reduced Damage (More Health) - If you take a lot of hits, then this is the thing for you. Firstly, you need the Golden Gauntlets. After you have them, go to the place where you got Din't Fire as a child, and pick up the giant stone. Link will throw it back, revealing a path. If you walk down it, you'll meet up with a Great Fairy that will reduce the amount of damage that you take by half (if a hit normally takes away half a heart, a hit with reduced damage will only take away a quarter of a heart).

The Hylian Loach
Catching the Hylian Loach is only for people who absolutely have to do everything in the game. Go to the Fishing Pond and pay the guy to let you fish. Now you have to find the Sinking Lure. Before you can do this you'll have to catch a fish that weighs 18 pounds or more. Once you've done that you can find the Sinking Lure either at the edge of the log that is sticking out of the water, by the rocks in the water near the cracked wall, or in the tall grass growing around the pond (along the wall). The location is random, but you'll know if you've found it. Once you have it, use it. It will sink to the bottom of a pond. Look for a black eel-like creature that doesn't move around much. That's the loach. To catch it, you have to wait until it is still and try to get the lure right beside it's mouth. Usually it doesn't bite, but if it does, you're in for a real battle. If you thought catching 15-pounders was hard, try catching this! If it does bite, always hold A and R, continually tap B, and rotate the control stick constantly. Catching the loach could take a while, and it's not really worth it. The guy says that you can't keep it, gives you a cash prize, and lets the loach go.

The Golden Scale
To get the golden scale, you have to catch a "lunker" as an adult. This is a fish that weighs about 19 pounds. After you catch it and let the fisherman weight it, he will be so impressed that he will give you the Golden Scale.

1. After you get to the shortcut to Zora's Domain in the Lost Woods, turn left twice. Here you'll find some soft mud in which to plant magic beans.

6. Right in front of the Fire Temple there is a good place to plant a magic bean.
7. Just before the entrance to Dodongo's Cavern there is a soft pile of mud that's perfect for planting a magic bean.
8. Beneath the bridge in Gerudo Valley there is a ledge with a cow, a Gerudo, and some good mud for planting a magic bean.
9. Beside the Lakeside Laboratory in Lake Hylia the land is fertile and perfect for planting a magic bean.
10. At the entrance to the Spirit Temple there is a place to plant a magic bean

The Forest Stage
The Forest Stage is hidden within the Lost Woods. To find it, turn right, left, right, left, left when you enter the Lost Woods. Differences Between the N64 and GCN Versions
- The main difference is that the dungeons in Master Quest have been completely remixed. The maps are the same, but the puzzles have been changed around completely. Enemies in dungeons have also been changed around (although no changes have been made to bosses), and Gold Skulltulas in dungeons have been shuffled.
- Master Quest is considerably more difficult than Ocarina of Time (although, once again, this only applies to dungeons).
- The GCN version of both games includes the latest changes to be made in Ocarina of Time on the N64. This means that the chanting was taken out of the Fire Temple music (apparently it was offensive) and replaced with a horrible synthesized voice, and any red blood has been changed to green.
- The graphics are now high resolution (640x480), meaning everything looks a bit crisper.
- The game now supports progressive scan.
- The game not only features both Ocarina of Time and Master Quest, it also features previews for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, F-ZERO, 1080°: Avalanche, Wario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords, and a preview called "Hot Clips" which highlights many GameCube games.
