    Dear Chris,

Thanks for the advise. It was helpful in pointing us to some of the stores that might be able to help us. Nice web site, btw....the theme is just right for a lion dance web site!

I got hooked up just fine. There will be 2 heads lion dance, flower drums, and chopsticks dancing for the wedding. Thanks for everything. I couldn't have done it without you.

    Hi Chris,

I'm using the information to try to figure out how lion dancers know that their style of dance is correct? I'll be examining questions like how the sifus learned to dance, how lion dancing in the US is different from China, how the team gets funding and why they choose to perform in certain festivities.

To find answers, I'll be going to some of the lion dance schools around Southern California (south of LA to be exact) to interview the sifus. (And while I'm mentioning it, I really want to thank you for including that list of Lion Dance Groups in Southern Cal in your website. It's making my search much easier!) My professor also wants to me interview some people (like restauarant owners, club organizers, etc) around Southern Cal to find out why they chose a certain team to perform for their event. So I think this will be quite an interesting experience. I've certainly learned a lot from all of the reading that I've done, and I think I'll enjoy learning from lion dancers and sifus when I get a chance to talk to them.

Again, thank you so much for all of your help this far. I'm not sure what I would have done without your advice. I certainly wouldn't have been able to find answers to my questions as quickly as I have been.

    Sincerely,

    Samantha

Luan Fei Hung's Major Gig: Hunter and Teri Pell's Wedding

Thanks to Lion's Cave, Teri Pell was able to find us and asked us to perform. Once the team knew we were performing for a wedding, our training levels increased greatly. After talking to them and getting to know the Pell's better, we grew confident that this would be a fun performance as it should be. The day of the wedding, most of us were panicing. It happens every time for a performance though, so it is not anything new to us. But the performance went great. Though the bride and groom did not clearly understand what to do, luckily our Buddha had the idea and directed them into doing what was originally planned. After the performance, they invited us to hang out for a while. The caterer for the food was one of the best. Since the Pell had enjoyed the performance so much, and the fact that they like to party, they have invited us back to perform for them on Chinese New Years. It is one performance we are all looking forward to. Thank you Lion's Cave. Without you, we wouldn't have been founded
