Greenhouse 1

"In this greenhouse, you'll be dealing and learning about easier plants."
Prof. Sprout explains.

To work with plants, first of all, you do need some tools.  Here are some things you'll need in everyday use with ALL plants you're taking care of:

Handbasket/bushel basket: If a plant has fruit, cones, or seeds, etc. you can pull them off and put them into the basket.  Or you can use the basket while weeding, to deposite the weeds, or dead leaves etc. on the plant.

Watering can: Used to water plants.  Probably not all the magical plants need water, but maybe they also use it to give the baby Mandrakes a bath?  What a thought!

Hand shovel: You will need a handshovel when digging up dirt, repotting smaller plants, or for digging out weeds.

Clippers: Clippers will be used to trim larger branches or stems off of plants, and to keep them thinned out and in a certain shape.

Tweezers: Tweezers are used to open the shells of plants to retrieve the seeds, or for other jobs that you need to be careful and/or retrieve small things.

Gloves: Gloves are used for protection against thorny plants, or other dangerous plants that could harm you.  They also keep your hands clean and blister-free during work.  Gloves will protect you from recieving any of the plants germs, or giving the plant any of yours!

Annuals or Perrenials?

Annual:  An annual plant is a plant that stays for just one year, or one season, depending on the plant.  It's very rare to see one that comes around more than one year. (although it HAS happened to me)

Perrenial:  Perrenials (spelling) come around every year after you plant them.  Depending on the plant, they might spread too.  Perrenials are common in long-term gardens.
