For a while it was said to be called "Harry Potter and the Quidditch Cup", then "Harry Potter and the Doomspell Tournament" now it is called "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". So you're telling me there's NO way it's gonna be "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", eh? Well, it's going to be and it is! Right now! This week's USA Today Newspaper brought forward the evidence. Read on:
An article making the front page of USA Today "Life," in Section D titled "As if by magic, a girl gets her hands of 'Harry' early" gave us the answers:
Imagine you are an 8 year old attending summer day camp. Imagine that everyone your age on the planet wants to read teh 4th installment of a series about a young wizard named Harry Potter. But they can't, because the book won't be realeased until July 8th. Now imagine that when you dad picks you up from camp, he has that book, Harry Potter and teh Goblet of Fire, in the car. "She went crazy. She was beside herself," says Mary Beth Cantwell, mother of Laura Cantwell of Fairfaz, Va., who is reading rthe new Harry Potter, thanks to the astute eyes on an unnamed family friend who "stumbled across the book" on the shelves of a northern Virginia store last week. Laura's coup is big news because the America publisher, Scholastic, has made merchants sign documents forbidding the sale of the book before 12:01a.m. Saturday. With an expected first printing of 3.8 million copies, the book has been shrouded in unprecedented secrecy. Mary Beth Cantwell, an anesthesiologist, whon't name the store that broke the embargo because she does not want to get anyone fired. She says it was not a bookstore, and there was not a big display. The family friend did not buy all the copies. And no, the Cantwells are not selling the book. "It was somebody's mistake, and we got luck." Both Cantwell and her daughter are on Chapter 3. The family is mum on plot details, but Laura told her mother she's glad she's reading the book "with the lights on in the daytime. It's scary." Cantwell says the book is more than 700 pages long and has 39 chapters. The family has been busy ansering media calls. Laura is scheduled to appear on NBC's Today this morning. British newspapers have been particularly keen because author J.K. Rowling is Scottish. The Cantwells are clearly mad for the Potter books, having read the three previous ones. They also had ordered 2 copies of the 4th book at a bookstore. (Cantwell still will probably pickup one copy for her sister.) The family calendar for July 8 is marked "Harry Potter Day." As a parent, Cantwell is delighted to see children obsessed with reading a book. "It's the best thing about Harry Potter." But to get it early? "This was magic," Cantwell said.
Ok, there's your proof! Very peculiar story, 'eh? Well, that's all I have on it at this point! Thanks for reading it!
