A Thousand Words

Two bright smiling faces,
Unknowing of the future that awaits them.
Times of love, and happiness,
Times of nights that wouldn’t seem to end.
If these eyes could have seen,
The future that was laid out before them,
Would they have taken a different path?
What would happen differently?
Would love had held on a little tighter,
Through the times of pain and greed?
Two souls, caught up
In a whirlwind of puppy love.
Not knowing, not seeing, not caring
What was to happen in the future,
As long as they were together in the present.
A picture can say a thousand words,
And surely this one is no exception.
