Upon A Cold Wintery Evening

Blasts of cold shooting to the bone.
With you by my side I'm not alone.
The snow silently falls from the blackened sky.
You try to dry the tears I cry.
A sudden warm embrace,
AS I force a smile upon my face.
The trees rustling their bare brances,
Cannot be heard above my cries.
An embrace that coudln't last long enough.
I tried so hard to be tough,
But I couldn't hide the fear in my eyes,
Or stop my endless sighs.
I can still feel the love you gave me.
I wish it did not have to be,
Our last night together before you were leaving,
Upon a cold wintery evening.
