THE BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS STUDIO PROJECT
The Studio Project Concept:

Introduction:

It tragic to discover that the studio tapes, I mean demos and rehearsals, are more and more fragmented and of lower quality. To act against the lose of these tracks and ti preserve the material, is the Studio Project  (as a central database).

The reasons:

Well, all early circulating material was on tape and so copies lose each time of quality. We can find then a demo like "Give thanks and Praises" that got an awful quality (on almost all compilations)  and sound totally different from the one of great sound quality (that appear in the "Confrontation demos"). Not to lose these great versions, is the project. Then, stuff is more and more fragmented and there are a lot of demos compilation created that only have one rare un uncommon demo. I found the "78 Dont Rock The Boat demo" like that.
Finally, tapes longer than 74min are fragmented on several CDs when translated and some songs are sometime lost as it appear to be for the "Wounded Lion Session" where two tracks miss at the end and where the 5 takes of Babylon System are eparsed.

The Concept:

The concept is that I will list all tape with all songs I have and know, with a sound quality quote and the total time of each track. Songs that appear in yellow are songs that are rare or less common. Fillers will be removed!! And your contribution listed, to compare the different version and sources.

What can you do?

What you have to do, if you agree, is to compare your tapes with the one listed. If you have more tracks, or different versions (
that you can recognize by different track times and/or quality!) or even more: other tapes that didnt appear in the list, please send me an email with your versions well described and your email. Please check that all you add is specific to the tape and not a filler from one another. It will be the soon updated on the website, with your email (or not if you dont want) so everyone can get the versions from you. And you can get the there versions of other people. The website will also have the aim to be a tracklist database.

Ill try to get (trade) all these different versions to have a central database too.
