Back to Recipes index MILLION DOLLAR FUDGE

(This was my grandmother's recipe.  My mother's made it every Christmas [and only for Christmas] of my life, except one.)

4½ C. sugar
1 large can evaporated milk
12 oz. chocolate chips
12 oz. Hershey bar, broken up
1 pint marshmallow creme
½ stick butter
Pinch salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 C. walnuts (optional)

In a large saucepan, boil sugar and canned milk together for five minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.

Add remaining ingredients.  Stir together until smooth.  Pour into a greased pan.  Cool to room temperature.  Cut into squares.  Refrigerate.

Note: If desired, a Hershey bar with almonds may be used.  Don't substitute for any of the other ingredients.  Use real vanilla, real butter, the expensive chocolate chips -- the works.  It's worth it.
