(These are something my mother started making fairly recently.  I think she got the recipe from a newspaper.  They are, nevertheless, rich, yummy, and nice for the holidays, Halloween through Christmas.)

1 C. flour
1/2 C. quick oats
1/2 C. fbrown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 C. nuts, chopped
1 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 C. melted butter
1 C. solid pack pumpkin
3/4 C. evaporated milk
1 lightly beaten egg
1/3 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, nuts, & 1 tsp. cinnamon.  Add butter.  Mix until crumbly.  Press into bottom of 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish.  Bake in moderate oven (350  F) 20-25 min.  Remove from oven.

Reduce oven temperature to 325 F.  Combine remaining ingredients.  Pour over crust.  Bake in slow oven (325  F) 25-30 minute or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool completely.
CREAM CHEESE TOPPING

1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. orange marmalade

Beat cream cheese and marmalade together until fluffy.  Spread over cooled bars.  Garnish with crushed chopped nuts or orange peel (optional).  Cut into bars and serve.
