SWISS STEAKS - VEGETARIAN
This is my dad's favorite dish, and my brother-in-law, who used to be strictly a meat & potatoes kinda guy, thought this was terrific.
1 can Loma Linda Dinner Cuts 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1 onion, chopped 1 C. celery, chopped, with leaves 1 C. water 1 egg Cracker crumbs
Cook celery and onion until tender in tomato sauce and water. Bread Dinner Cuts using 1 egg and cracker crumbs; brown in skillet. Place by layers in casserole, alternating Dinner Cuts and sauce. Bake at 350 F. for 1 hour.
Note: Dinner Cuts are sometimes hard to find. You can substitute another brand of gluten/soy cutlets but, alas, it will never be the same.
These reheat well in the microwave, or make a good cold sandwich with mayonnaise and ketchup (or whatever you like). |
