Hahnenfest, (chickenfest)
In the lil town where we live, (queidersbach) They hold a chicken festival, up on a small hill. The fest lasts a weekend, and is open till 4am, on sat. and around 10pm on sundays. Of course the main dish consist of, Yep you guessed it, chicken, Roasted for hours. And like all german festivals, the bevarage of choice is beer.
I was up there for the first time on saturday, by myself, ran into some nice people who invited me to their table. Well needless to say, I was up there till midnight. These festivals are great for familys, they have one kidie ride, and a dance floor for the kids to dance on. there was kids as young as 2yrs, still there when i left at midnite.
The following pictures are from the next day, (sunday) The whole family walked up there, so I could have two of the glasses. At all festivals you pay a deposit for the glasses, just in case you decide to take them home. their already paid for. They had .5 liter, and 1.2 liter glasses.
Looks dead here, but once the sun stops being so hot, this place gets jumping.
This glass holds 1.2liters of beer. I had about 2 of them.
Heres me after two glasses of pils beer.
Alan nursed this one mug for about an hour and a half.
Notice the shirt, A friend brought it back for us from qatar, near iraq. Where he was stationed. During the war.
The kids had a blast, for 10 bucks they could ride 12 times. So we bought 20 dollars worth while we were eating.
