My Shinning Star

I know this guy

Who is big and strong

Not mean or shy

And is never wrong

He teaches me things

That I need to know

He plays ball with me

And shows me how to throw

He is proud of me

And talks about me a lot

Even though I’m not prefect

He is happy with what he has got

I’m lucky to have someone

One who cares and loves me

Some people don’t have that

I’m as lucky as can be

This guy is my shinning star

His radiant glow I follow

When the path is hard to find

I always know he'll be here to wash away my sorrow

But one day

That light will  grow dim

And then I'll have to go on

Without him

But for now

He is here to stay

I'm glad to have my daddy

Here to show the way
