English Riding Words Glossary
au concord= riding a horse in a show without being judged in order to firmiliarize a will be show horse with the show atmosphere
bat = a shorter version of a crop with, in some cases, a wider leather loop
crop = a kind of whip with a small leather loop for tapping a horse on its barrel to make the horse move or move faster
gait = a style of a horse's movement (ie. trotting, cantering....etc.)

liverpool= a jump that includes water

posting = rising out of the saddle and returning to it while trotting

saddle pad = a pad usually made of cotton used under the saddle so the saddle does not hurt the horse's back it is also used to absorb the horse's sweat
T
tack = the equipment put on the horse for riding (ie. saddle, bridle....etc.)
three point position = when you are sitting in the saddle with your thighs,calves and bottom all touching the saddle
two point position = when you are leaning forward with your thighs and calves touching the saddle but not your bottom, used when jumping to relieve weight from horse's back so he/she is able to jump better
