During the Victorian Era, when a caller came to visit you at your home or business, and you were not there to greet them, it was customary for them leave a calling card. On your return, the card, bearing the callers name, announced that you had a visitor.

Nowadays, with the vast array of modern technology at out disposal, leaving a calling card is a pleasant reminder of much simpler times. They can be left in a friend's guest book, on a message board, or attached to an email... just to let someone know you had paid them a visit or were thinking about them.

Blank cards are available for the addition of your own text message.

If you don't have a program that will allow you to add to the cards, drop me an enote with the name of the card and what message you would like on it, and I'll be happy to do it for you, font/text size and message length providing, of course :)
My only wishes are that you enjoy these, and please don't remove my name from the cards, as others may like to search for this site.
Have fun :)

HOW TO INSTALL CALLING CARDS ON A GUESTBOOK PAGE:

Upload your card(s) to your server's directory, where your web files
are stored. Then, when you visit another person's site, and wish to sign their guest book, enter
the location of the card like this:

If you have your card(s) stored in a sub directory on your server, and you named that sub directory "cards", then second half of your code will change, so use this example:

~~* PLEASE NOTE *~~

You'll be wasting your time if you try to link the cards from this site.
I have them all stored in sub directories.

A HELPFUL HINT:
Yes, yes, yes,... it's a lot of typing, but you'll only have to do it once, if, after your card file is uploaded to your server, you type your location on Notepad (or a similar utility), save it as "card.txt", and make a link to it from your desktop. That way, it'll always be handy for you to copy/paste into the message entry area of the guest book you're signing :)

To save these graphics on your hard drive, move your cursor over the card you wish to have,
right-click on it and select "Save Image As... "

Mac users: Click and hold on the image.
Web TV users: Please use a Transloader service.

A few Holiday and Special Occasion cards can be found by clicking here.
I'm working on lots more, but... I have a "real" life, too :)

Thanks for stopping by, and please sign my Guestbook before you leave.
