Conformation, Obedience, Agility,Flyball, Pet Therapy, Rescue HOW MANY POINTED/TITLED DOGS/BITCHES HAVE YOU BRED/OWNED? Breeder of Merit with 30+ titles and pointed dogs that I chose not to finish. WHAT GENETIC SCREENING DO YOU DO PRIOR TO BREEDING? CERF Eye exam, Thyroid,/Vwd (at breeders discretion), Patellas vet checked WHAT HEALTH PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED IN THIS BREED? Eye problems, slipping patellas, leg perthes, heart murmur, epilepsy, thyroid, kidney, auto immune deficiency,cancer. WHAT HEALTH CLEARANCES ARE DONE ON YOUR PUPPIES PRIOR TO SALE? All puppies are vet checked, with shots/deworming up to date for the age of the puppy. DO YOU PROVIDE A WRITTEN BILL OF SALE AND WHAT ARE YOUR CONDITIONS OF SALE? Yes, a written contract, also the CKC non-breeding contract with the puppy to be spayed/neutered by 6 months. Contract is available upon request. Conditions of sale may vary depending upon the experience of the new owner. DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR SHOW PUPPIES? Yes, I provide a written guarantee on all Littlefeat Miniature Pinschers. All Show Puppies are co-owned. WHAT IF A PUPPY TURNS OUT TO BE A PET INSTEAD OF A SHOW DOG? Normally a show prospect would be replaced, if the owner decides to keep the puppy,then the puppy would be spayed or /neutered as the contract states. As I seldom "litter", the wait between puppies may be as long as 2 years or more. AT WHAT AGE IS THIS DOG ASSESSED? An ongoing assessment takes place from birth, I do the intitial grading at 6 weeks, then again at 8 and 12 weeks. I keep puppies for 12-20 weeks of age.Show prospects are assessed and then cropping takes place.After cropping is done and the ears are standing properly and the dog is ready for the show ring, the puppy would be ready for a show home. Breed disqualifications (height, white ) Proper dentition is sometimes a problem with Miniature Pinschers, so a close watch must be kept on the dog's bite during teething. Also proper care during cropping and aftercare is critical. DO YOU RAISE YOUR PUPPIES IN YOUR HOME? Yes. My family consists of two daughters, husband.All puppies are exposed to conformation, obedience, socialization, and other dogs prior to placement in their new homes. HOW OLD ARE YOUR PET PUPPIES WHEN YOU PLACE THEM IN THEIR NEW HOME? Puppies are placed between 12 -20 weeks, so they are well started in their training. If a new owner wishes for a cropped animal, then cropping and earcare is done prior to the sale. WHEN IS YOUR NEXT LITTER DUE? Winter of 2008. ARE THE PARENTS CHAMPIONS? Parents are Canadian Champions. ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH OTHER BREEDS? Yes I am. I have been involved in the world of dogs since 1972. I am an obedience instructor, and a dog groomer. I show client dogs as my family/business schedule permits. I have shown many different breeds and pointed or titled dogs with success at the group level with group placements/best puppy in group awards for my clients. DO YOU TAKE THE DOG BACK OR HELP FIND IT ANOTHER HOME IF I CAN NO LONGER LOOK AFTER IT? When a puppy goes to it's new home, I have a 30 day buyback in my contract. Later on in the dog's life if you are no longer able to keep the dog for whatever reason, the contract states that the dog is to be returned to me.You will be responsible fo the cost of food/ advertising while the dog is in my care, until the dog is placed. No money is refunded prior to the dog being placed. YOU WILL BE ANSWERING LOTS OF QUESTIONS FROM ME AS WELL.
