YOUR SPECIAL STAR He was a special star in your eye, Now he's a special star in the sky. There's a feeling of sadness, But it cannot compare to the feeling of happiness, knowing he's up there. We will always love and remember him, for that special star will never grow dim. It was time to add another star to the sky, That it had to be yours we'll never know why.So at times when your light starts to get dim, from being lonely and thinking of him, When a tear of sadness comes to your eye, Just go outside and look up at the sky, for that biggest, brightest, most beautiful star, and he will always be there, No matter where you are. And when you feel the wind in your hair, and a soft loving touch on your cheek, You'll know it's your special star in the sky, Wiping away the tear from your eye. Your light will get brighter as the days go by, Because you know one day your star will be added to the sky. You carefully watched over him for forty years With all your love, Now as your special star he lovingly watches over you from above. This poem was written by Genny Price for Burnett Hughes In loving memory of her son, Sam Hughes. |
