Zip Zaps SE
Zipzaps are the popular line of micro rc created by Radioshack to compete with the bit char-g and other similarily sized cars. A zipzap, as shown in the pic, is slightly larger than a bit char-g and more to scale. The zipzap se is the same size as the regular zipzaps, though the body is a bit high off the ground.
Normally, I'm not a big fan of zipzaps, but this zipzap is special! Special Edition, to be exact. Whats the difference? Well, actually a lot. A new trigger type controller allows for digitally proprotional (pressure sensitive) steering and throttle, and six selectable frequencies. Built in headlights allow for nighttime racing or just a novelty. All this and only $5 more than the original zipzaps!

But of course, the car does have its problems. The most noticeable is of course the oddly designed body which is way higher off the ground than most street racing cars. There just isnt enough room inside the car for all the electronics for the lights and the proportional steering. The proprortional steering servo usually will stutter and jitter out of the box on the first drive, and this problem can be fixed by tweaking the steering trim. A twisted chassis results in one wheel being higher than the other, which makes a left turn wider than a right turn on slippery surfaces, such as wood floors.

Overall: 9/10
Dont buy this is you are not willing to tweak! Well, you can't expect a hobby class micro for $25 dollars, but the new features make it far superior to a standard zipzap. (or bitchar-g for that matter)

edit: after trying the xmod and epoch indoor racer, the proportional system of the ZZSE seems exteremely lackluster and uncontrollable in comparison. This would have been an excellent car if the steering problems were fixed. new overall: 7/10
