"Grace"
After a long ride I stopped to figure out the way Sometimes you just need to slow down And walk beneath the sun awhile Find a place to be quiet with your thoughts
Grace will find you In that city you just happen to be passing through
She traveled a long time Laid her bare feet on the jagged road She watched the sun set a hundred times But there's hope ahead And she said, "Lord, You've set me apart from the world for a while, And here on a poor girl's face Shines Your unconditional love!"
And I found it on a crumbling road, Found it when I fell with a fallen world, I found it through my tears, Found it through my bitterness, Found it in the heat and in the cold, In my old ways, In the depths of my soul You rose again - May I lay where Christ laid
And I know when you're feeling alone There's a hand reaching to take you home. Grace'll find you In that city you just happen to be passing through.
She laid in her bed at night With the door closed against the noise downstairs And she turned out the light and just cried For a long time And in her old wintry state She'd forgotten her hope and her faith
Taking a walk And the street lamps burned out - She saw a star break through the clouds
Grace'll find you In that city you just happen to be passing through
He'll find you there.
