| Oh, mommy, what has happened here? I want my hero back. Your smile is so beautiful But now's under attack. Oh, another storm has come Has got you looking down. Laughter absent from your throat Oh, where is that beautiful sound? Look up Look up Call upon the Lord Most High. He understands your pain And every tear you cry Makes Him sadder 'Cause He knows you don't deserve this Just wait and keep your faith And there will be a reason You endured this. Oh mommy Mommy, please don't cry I don't know why he put you down. How could he shade such pretty eyes He must not know just What he's found. Just remember Jesus 'Cause He made it through the same. He knew that He'd be persecuted But He loved His children So He came To save and gave His life And now He's happy High in Paradise. It's not fair What you must bear But put your hope in Christ And you'll be happy. Oh my, my, my It hurts my arms to swim against the tide. Just remember When they spit on Him Someone was always at His side. If you remember Jesus And how He made it through this life, How He was happy 'cause He loved the Lord With everything He was You'll be alright. Oh mommy Mommy, please don't cry I hate to see you sad. Uncle Jimmy's watching you Soon you'll be beside him With our Dad So when you're hurting Just know, God will bring you through. Jesus hung upon that cross And smiled Thinking lovely thoughts of you. Oh mommy Mommy, please don't cry Wipe the sadness from your eyes Cast your gaze upon the skies Have trust in Jesus Christ And you'll be happy. By Jenni Orton |
