| Here I am Home again Please allow me to explain Where I've been all this time. I saw the world On my TV Forgot my individuality Set Your words aside And opened up a magazine. Here I am Home again Will you open up Your door Even though I haven't been knocking lately? Here I am Home again Sitting on Your porch Swinging, dreaming, reading Smiling to myself I'm ready to look you in the eye again. I know I turned away But that was so many yesterdays ago I'm ready to look you in the eye And join my daddy in the sky. So will You open up the door Though I haven't been knocking lately? Did You weep when I ignored Your call? O please, Lord Open up the door Because I'm standing here Crying without You Waiting through the rain for You I'll overcome the rain for You And Your approval. 'Cause You always open up the door To sinners like me I was a stranger before But You let me in, let me see Lord, I stepped inside Your house And I'll believe forever 'Cause when I fall You open up the door. So here I am Home again Lord. By Jenni Orton HOME |
