| "Remembrance Of The Ocean" | ||||||||||||||
| I sat there on a rock Staring out at the ocean And I thought that someone Somewhere else Had sat and watched the sea And committed all it's beauty to their memory And I wondered what God sees When He's looking down on me... Did Daniel watch the ocean? Did he stare out at the tide? Did he lay out on the sands and pray For answers to arrive? And did the movement of the waves move him In ways he can't explain? And when the storm clouds came upon him Did he dance out in the rain The way that I do? Oh, Lord, please answer me. I remember gazing upward As I called upon my king. The melted purples of the sunset Were like a praise I'd never seen And with the sound of crashing waters Like a distant melody I raised my hands and said His name And promised Him my everything... Did David leave the city When the stars began to shine? Did the breeze across his face Feel like a God-sent valentine? Did he stare out through the night And see the warm eyes of his Father? Did he shout out words of glory When his sore feet touched the water? Did Jesus walk alone with You Out there, across the shore? And did He sing out songs of praise To thank the One He lived here for? And did the ocean make Him smile? Did the sunrise stir a tear? And did He sing for You With all His voice When only You could hear? 'Cause that's what I do. I sat there on a rock Staring out at the ocean And I heard the voice of someone High above me Singing too... By Jenni Orton |
