| "Seeking Heaven" Beneath a sea of deep blue, liquid sky Against the quiet, cool embrace Of wintry breeze to kiss my face I lifted youthful, eager eye To wonder at this open space As far and many as the stars, it seems Are wonders of my heart streams, deep Are hungers which entreat on sleep New embers of my thirsty dreams Into this seeking heart, they seep As on my cheek, December painted deep I wondered at what lies beyond Upon the brimming pinks of dawn Desires form a mountain, steep And every moment, layers on And in my heart's an empty place Addicted to answers unfound Like sniffing roses long-since browned Prayer song pretends to fill this space But truth comes only Heaven-bound.
