| "Song" Oh Heaven-sent is this relief upon me Though I am being tried and tested Time and time again Here is a drink, says the Lord Here's a tall glass of water In the sweet body of a song. Here is a friend. Here is a smile. Melodies in harmony and all these voices Sing Sing for the Lord Here's a sweet sweet retreat From the tears of the world Here are deep sun-born yellows Sprinkled upon words Of this flower Our Savior One green in a valley of thorns. My bare feet Ever moving Upon this human field of glass I cried out From the pain When this dull skin was slashed And here I keep on moving Though I sat today And broke down And I prayed And you laid me in shade On this paved ground Of worship and song And the words of my Father Will move me along I get up And move on I move on... Sweet sweet relief Here's a tall glass of water A hand on your hand And an arm 'round my shoulder Sweet Like a wind on a hot summers day Or a rain after prayer I know, God, that you're right there beside me... Sing And my trouble dissapears Here's the music He's given to hear Won't you rejoice in it? Stand on a mountain And let that sweet breeze of Him fill you Dance like no one's watching And let your eyes drip with joy... I was lonely today I went outside and hid from my family Sat against that old truck in our backyard And cried And wrote down this long prayer Asking God to please help me Because I can't do this alone. I was lonely today Overwhelmed by these tests I've been blessed with So much at one time And I'm less ready than I thought And I'm sorry, Lord I could've handled it better But you filled me with joy When I didn't deserve it... And I sing 'cause I love you More than anything I promise I love you More than anything You're my God Always You're my God Always. By Jenni Orton |
