My favorite Michener book had to be "The Source".

Michener takes you from the very beginning of mankind to the present, but weaves the stories of the various generations in such an interesting manner that you're not aware you are learning a great deal of the history of man. It was intriguing to go back to beginning of time and follow the 12,000 year history of Israel and the surrounding regions,the people and their cultures...a must read.
