The Lady With The Wolf In Her Eyes

Strength, courage and compassion
I feel it all around, especially when she's near.
The love she holds for the wolf
is strong and oh so clear.

her eyes meet mine, she begins to smile,
a smile that offers trust and hope.
In a time of endless heartaches
she gives us fortitude
when we feel we can no longer cope.

As this lady reaches the depths of my soul
I give her the gift of my sight,
in the hope that she can teach others
that we are not the savage
deadly demons of the night.

This lady warms my heart and being,
and without apprehension I offer her my paw.
This night I've gained a friend for life
who can pledge me love and so much more.

Tears of joy run down her cheeks
I taste the bittersweet flow,
I kiss the lips of kindness
and she knows that I know.

One day in some far off place
for all the world to see,
she'll be watching us from a distance
running wild and running free.

The time came for us to part,
no sad farewell's, no long goodbye's,
I'll always carry a part of her with me,
this very special lady
with the wolf in her eyes!

Welcome, little daughter, I am Father Wolf.

Fear not, I am the first wolf, the father of all our kind.
It is my honor to welcome all of my children when they
finally make that journey home. Why such a confused look?
Ah, the taste. You are one of the lucky ones, you brought with you the taste
of your human's tears from your efforts to kiss away their sorrow.
Our memories are short for faces and such,
but we never forget the taste of the tears of those we loved.
That's how you'll remember your people when at last they come to join you.
Yes, the taste will be different then,
tears of joy are so much sweeter than the bitter tears of sorrow.
But trust me, daughter, you'll know.
Don't be afraid, you'll soon see that your breed is the most beloved
of all our Maker's creations!
You make him smile! You, of all the creatures on earth, are the ones to
first understand the great mystery!
The two-legged ones spend their lives searching for the answer that was
born into your soul with your very first breath!
Never did you question the Creator for all the pain and suffering of the world,
you knew these were merely the things of man.
You gave to Him the greatest praise of all, you honored the gift he gave to you,
you lived!
And through that living you found the true meaning of life.
You lived each day as the precious gift it was.
You brought great joy to your people, and those around you!
Enough of the serious stuff, now, come with me,
we'll chase butterflies, and smell the flowers,
we'll dance with the Angels and race with the Unicorns!
Hmmm, you've never seen a Unicorn? Well, daughter,
let me tell you about them........
