David Baker 61, died Wednesday,
February 20, 2002 in Avondale, Arizona. He is survived by his
daughter Christy A. Baker, resident of Scottsdale, Arizona; brothers
John T. Baker, H. Charles Baker, James C. Baker, his aunt Mary
Ellen Mull as well as several nieces and nephews all residing
in Logansport, Indiana. David was born May 23, 1940 in Logansport,
Indiana where he lived until his high school graduation in 1958.
He then attended Ole Miss University for one year prior to attending
the United States Naval Academy for four years. He graduated from
Annapolis with a bachelor degree in Naval Engineering in 1963.
David served as a Lieutenant Commander on destroyers in the Vietnam
War. He was honorably discharged in 1967. David was a resident
of the state of Arizona for more than 20 years of his life. David
lived transpiring into a man with many endeavors. He had a lifetime
of athletic accomplishments, and intellect of exemplified nature
and a vehement thirst for life. He was an avid outdoors man, sailor,
dignified scholar and humanitarian. He left a great crevasse in
hearts of the lives he touched and blessed. David will be deeply
missed. Services will be held publicly at 1:30 PM, Wednesday,
February 27, 2002 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona,
23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Services entrusted to Greer-Wilson
