Elizabeth "Libby" Hillis Tuthill      Services for the mother of Stan Hillis, Elizabeth R. “Libby” Hillis Tuthill, 91, Logansport and Dallas, Texas, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Kroeger Funeral Home.
     She died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, in Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, Texas.
     Born July 15, 1916, in Muncie, she was the daughter of John David and Lelia Smith Rice. She was married May 5, 1940, in Monticello, to John T. Hillis, who preceded in death July 10, 1989. She was married June 15, 1991, to John B. Tuthill, of Dallas, Texas, who survives.
     Libby attended and graduated from Monticello High School in 1935. She attended four years at Indiana University, Bloomington, receiving a degree in English in October 1939. At IU, she was chosen to represent the university along with nine other women from each of the other Big 10 schools to represent the Big 10 at the World’s Fair in New York City. While at Indiana University, she belonged to the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was admitted to Morter Board, an academic honors organization.
     Libby was an avid golfer and won several golf championships in the area. In the 1950s, she was a Cub Scout den mother and also served on the Logansport Community School Corporation Board of Trustees.
In 1957, Libby founded Civic Players of Logansport, and in 1961, founded Logansport Junior Civic Theater. In 1976, she was the driving force behind the formation of the Performing Arts Council of Logansport.
     Libby also was a Realtor with the Alma Hill Agency and the Brokerage House.
     In 1988, she was awarded the Book of Golden Deeds for outstanding civic service to the Logansport community.
     Libby also was an avid bridge player, a vicious scrabble player, and she was almost unbeatable at playing Pounce. These interests continued up until the time of her death.
     She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church.
     Her proudest accomplishment was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, John and Anita Wolpers Hillis, Logansport, Dr. J. Stanley and Alice Gettlefinger Hillis, Indianapolis, and Mark B. and Patricia Aldrich Hillis, St. Louis; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Hillis and Bruce McGrevy, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Rice Reynolds, Atlanta, Ga.
     One sister and two brothers, preceded in death.
     Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.

    The
mother of Arthur G Lovell, Harriett Ellen Grisley Lovell, 95 of Logansport, IN, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 6:26 P.M. in Chase Nursing Center.
     Born June 8, 1911 in Logansport, she was the daughter of William H.,Sr. and Jessie Osborne Grisley. She was married June 18, 1938, to the late George A. Lovell in Logansport.
     A 1930 graduate of Logansport High School, Mrs. Lovell was a graduate of the Logansport Business College and the Rainbow School of Beauty Culture in Indianapolis. In her earlier years, she was employed as a sales consultant at Seybold Dry Goods Company and had once worked a receptionist for Dr. Marian Hochhalter. Mrs. Lovell had owned and operated the former Ellen's Beauty Shoppe at 314 11th Street for many years.
     Mrs. Lovell was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. Her other memberships included Eastern Star, Emera Club, Logansport Art Association, Cass County Genealogy Club, Elkettes Lodge, First Mothers' Study Club, Cass County Historical Society, Indianapolis Indiana Arts Commission, and the Daughters of American Revolution. She had also volunteered with the Meals with Wheels program. As a member of the Voyager Club of Indianapolis, she became a world traveler, spending time in over 25 countries. She was also an accomplished artist, studying under John and Betsy Lewis at Indiana University at Kokomo, Paul Sweeney at John Herron Art Institute, as well as Mary Lou Crisman and Phyllis Wicker in Logansport.
     Surviving are Son, Arthur G. Lovell and his wife Karen; three grandchildren, and six great-grandsons.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Lovell and a brother William Harry Grisley, Jr.

     The step-mother of Bill Medland, Jeanne Marie Medland, 90, a homemaker, passed away peacefully, at her home in Pantego, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Sun City, Ariz. Burial: Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Ariz. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., with the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, Ariz. A local memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at The Waterford at Pantego.
     Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gabriel's Angels and Right to Life Program, c/o St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1200 S. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76013.
     Jeanne Marie Medland was born July 15, 1916, in Logansport, Ind., to Leo Francis and Hermine Rose Reder. Jeanne loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a wonderful, loving mother and wife. Her greatest joy was to be with her family. Gifted as an artist, and accomplished actress, Jeanne could frequently be seen, if not in the cast, in the audience of area theatre productions. Jeanne also loved to crewel and needlepoint, and was always open for the challenge of a good bridge game. She had a passion for reading and often volunteered at local libraries. Jeanne cherished traveling worldwide, as often as possible, including whitewater rafting, at the age of 85, and cruising several Alaskan cruises, the last being on her 90th birthday. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 40 years, Paul A. Medland, in 1977; husband of 17 years, Thomas G. Medland, in 1995; and her sister, Hermine "Babe" McCain, in 1995.
     Survivors: daughter, Carol Medland (Sr. Mary Paul), of Ohio, and Denise Medland of Texas; sons, Michael Medland and wife, Linda, of Florida, and Brian Medland, of California; stepsons, Thomas Medland and wife, Rita, and Richard Medland and wife, Patricia, both of Arizona, William Medland and wife, Donna, of Wisconsin, and Timothy Medland and wife, Joanna, of Indiana; sisters, Jackie Sum and Lorraine Obenchain; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family and friends at American Airlines and at The Waterford at Pantego.

     The mother of the late James "Nikki" Morrical, Ina Belle Morrical of Logansport, Ind., 92, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Woodbridge Health Campus, Logansport. She was born Jan. 21, 1915 in Dunkirk, Ind., to Hubert Woodard and Mae Frommyer. She married Dr. R. J. Morrical on June 21, 1941 in Goodland, Ind.
     Mrs. Morrical was a former teacher and worked several years as an office manager for her husband's medical practice. She was a 1932 graduate of Wolcott High School and earned a teaching degree at Ball State University. Ina Belle enjoyed sewing, canning and sharing her wonderful meals with family and friends. She gave much of her time and talents to others. She was a member of the River of Life Christian Church, Tourist Club and Order of Eastern Star. In her earlier years she was active in the League of Women Voters and was a member of the Logansport School Board.
     Survivors include sons, Dr. David L. Morrical and wife Betsy of Logansport, and John Douglas Morrical and wife Ann of Norman; daughter-in-law, Paula Curtin and husband Curt of Indianapolis; grandchildren, John and Erica Morrical, Michael and Amanda Morrical, Jim and Michelle Kesser, Christopher and Juanna Morrical, Peter and Amber Morrical, Rebekah and Jake Gearhart, Hannah and Lance Ward, Mercy and David Hearne of Norman, Grace Morrical and boyfriend Brian Richter of Norman and Stephanie Morrical of Norman; great-grandchildren, Macey Gearhart, George Gearhart, Kylie Wells-Morrical, Chloe and Hope Ward and Owen Morrical; niece Lynn and Tom Lollis-Pinter; nephews, Glen and May Morrical, Richard and Susan Morrical, and Ron and Geri Powers.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, son, James "Nikki" Morrical, infant daughter, Susan and sisters, Viola Mae Lollis and Rose Mary Hill.
     In honor of Ina Belle's wishes and her donation to the medical science there will be no services or visitation at this time. Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery Logansport, IN.

     Services for the mother of Sandra Pfaff Strasser, Helena M. Pfaff, 85, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church.

     She died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2007, in Miller’s Merry Manor.
     Born April 22, 1921, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Naureen N. Massick Amelio. She was married Jan. 25, 1940, in Logansport, to Herbert Pfaff, who preceded in death Nov. 28, 1986.
     In earlier years, Helena had been employed at Amelio’s, the family business.
     She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society, Daughters of Isabella, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary, Democrat Women’s Club and the William Paca Lodge, Italian-American Club.
     Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Richard Strasser, Logansport; one sister, Shirley Peter, Logansport; grandchildren, Paula Ruble and her husband, Bob, Mandi Peters and her husband, Jason, Matt Burkett and Nicole Cardinal and her husband, Tom; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Luke, Elizabeth and Amelia Peters, and Jake and Hunter Ruble; one daughter-in-law, Carol Pearson, Monticello; and a number of nieces and nephews.
     Two sons, Jerry Pfaff and Bill Pfaff, one brother, Francis Amelio, and two sisters, Theresa Harvey and Mildred Wolf, preceded in death.
     Father Michael McKinney will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

     The mother of SuEllen Farrer Hollering, Phyllis Marie Farrer, Rochester, 81, died at 2:22 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at her residence. Born Jan. 15, 1926, in Royal Center, she was the daughter of Harry Day and Ella Burton. On Oct. 14, 1942, in Logansport, she married James Edward Farrer, who preceded in death April 5, 1997.

     She was a homemaker. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3790 Ladies Auxiliary and attended Faith Outreach Church in Rochester.
     Survivors include daughters Sue Hollering and husband Budd, Kewanna, and Patty Rhoades and husband Larry, Kokomo; a son, Dr. James Farrer and Wife Sherry, Lafayette; a sister, Donna Pasquale, Kokomo; nine grandchildren, MSgt. Jack Barnett and companion Misty, Peru, Kris Barnett and wife Tina, Rochester, Jason Farrer, Brooklyn, N.Y., Jacob Rhoades and wife Carrie, Kokomo, Mike Barnett and wife Lori, Rochester, Jason Rhoades and wife Amy, Peoria, Ill., Jessica Taufatofua and husband David, Kokomo, Amanda Coull and husband Clayton, Rapid City, S.D., and Emily Tiedeman and husband Chris, Pennville; 17 great-grandchildren, Kara and Kory Barnett, Rochester, J.D. and Brantlyn Showley, Rochester, Steven and Nicole Barnett, Peru, Kina, Fine, Saia and Elenoa Taufatofua, Kokomo, Liam, Aiden and Kiera Coull, Rapid City, S.D., Tyler Jay and Brady Rhoades, Peoria, Ill., Carter Tiedeman, Pennville, and Hank Rhoades, Kokomo; several nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and one great-grandson, Tanner Rhoades.
     Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home, with Dr. James Farrer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, in Highland 4th Lot 92.
     Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services Tuesday at Gundrum Funeral Home.

     Services for the brother of John Barrett, William T. Barrett, 63, of Logansport, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kroeger Funeral Home.
William T Barrett     He died at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, in his residence.
     Born Nov. 29, 1942, in Logansport, he was the son of Norbert and Eleanor C. Fettig Barrett.
     A tool and die maker, Mr. Barrett was retired from Daimler-Chrysler Corporation. He also had been employed at RBM Manufacturing.
     Bill was a 1961 graduate of Logansport High School. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, and he was involved with numerous clubs and organizations throughout his life.
     Surviving are his brothers, Vincent Barrett and his wife, Sarah, Charles E. Barrett and John Barrett and his wife, Sharon, all of Logansport; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Mark Penz, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
     Deacon Juan Rodriguez will officiate at the services.
     Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in Logansport.
     Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Scripture service will be held at 6 p.m.

     Services for
Teddi Callipo Kennedy's father, Frank A. Callipo, 82, of Kokomo, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
     He died at 8 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005 in St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
     Born Oct. 29, 1922, in Logansport, he was the son of Dominic and Rose Vesh Callipo. He was married Nov. 20, 1982, in Logansport to Betty Sutton, who survives in Kokomo.
     Mr. Callipo was a longtime Prudential Life Insurance agent and district manager. Frank had also been owner of Dick Elliott Distributors, which later merged with Miller Beverage of Kokomo.
     He was a member of the Logansport Exchange Club, a lifetime member of the Logansport Elk's Lodge #66, member of the Logansport Italian American Club and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church of Kokomo. Frank was a former band leader and recipient of the Exchange Club Book of Golden Deeds. He also was involved in the original Save the Carousel project.
     Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
     Also surviving are three daughters, Teddie Kennedy and her husband, Vince, Lafayette, Lynn Myer and her husband, Karl, and Frankie Rogers and her husband, John, all of Logansport; one stepson, Stuart Brandt and his wife Cynthia, Indianapolis; one stepdaughter, Deborah Beard and her husband, Lynn, Kokomo; five grandchildren, Krista, Jim, Clark, Kathie and Drew, one stepgrandson, Chris; and six great-grandchildren.
     The Rev. Scott Ellison will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.
     Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

     Memorial services for the
brother of J. Homer Closson, Jack D. Closson, 78, of Willis, Texas, were held Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, Texas, with Dr. Rick Young officiating.
     He died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in his residence in Texas.
     Born Sept. 3, 1926, in Logansport, he was the son of George and Marie Walton Closson.
     He was a member of the Walnut Cove Property Owners Association, a volunteer for the U.S. Forest Service and an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Conroe.
     Surviving are his wife, Frances Closson, Willis, Texas; one daughter, Ann Marie Cheatham, Cleveland, Texas; two sons, Stephen Closson and his wife, Catina, Willis, Texas, and Timothy Closson, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Joe Closson and his wife ,Betty, Madeira Beach, Fla., and J. Homer Closson and his wife, Kathy, Logansport; grandchildren, Danielle Cheatham and Julia Closson; and a host of other loving extended family.

     A Funeral Mass for the
mother of Carolyn Hopper Killion, Edith R. Hopper, 81, of Edith HopperLogansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in All Saints Catholic Church.
     She died at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in Miller’s Merry Manor.
     Born June 2, 1924, in Logansport, she was the daughter of John L. and Gladys Lewis Gross. She was married July 11, 1942, in Logansport, to Harry W. Hopper, who died Oct. 22, 1976. On May 8, 2002, she was married to Bill Huff, who survives in Colorado Springs, Colo., while recovering from a stroke.
     From 1977 to 1993, Mrs. Hopper was the box office manager and secretary at McHale Performing Arts Center. She was a graduate of Logansport High School.
     Mrs. Hopper was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.
     For many years, she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile drives in Logansport.
     She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society and the Daughters of Isabella.
     She enjoyed crocheting and crafts.
     Also surviving are one son, Wayne Hopper and his wife, Candy, Conroe, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Killion, Logansport, and Vivian Munson and her husband, Steve, Fountain Hills, Ariz.; one stepson, Mike Huff, Lebanon, Ky.; one stepdaughter, Pat Ridley, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Margaret Shedlock and her husband, Steve, and Frances Lehmann, all of Logansport; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Tony and Norma Killion, Heather and Reed Dworski, Aimee and Ron Carter, Matt Hopper, Melissa and Rudy Schmerber, Amber Hopper, and Merri and John Ramirez; eight great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; brothers-in-law, Harold Hopper and his wife, Marcella, and Robert Hopper and his wife, Joan, Ova Huff and his wife, Mary, all of Logansport; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Lohrman and her husband, Wayne, Logansport, and Wanda Simpson and her husband, Bob, Tennessee.
     One sister, Mary Alice Hoover, and one stepson, Tim Huff, preceded in death.
     Father Michael McKinney will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

     A Scripture service, conducted by Deacon Juan Rodriguez, followed by a Daughters of Isabella memorial service, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

David Steinhilber's wife, Betty Steinhilber, 60, of Logansport, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2005, in Kroeger Funeral Home.
Betty Steinhilber  She died at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, in Chase Center.
  Born May 3, 1945, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Aubrey and Mary Miles.  She was married June 11, 1966, in Danville, to Dave Steinhilber, who survives.
  Betty had been employed by Logansport Community School Corporation as a teacher's aide, working in special education at Lincoln Middle School.  She previously had worked at Landis Elementary.
  She was a graduate of Danville High School and had attended Purdue University.
  A very active member in the community, she was especially committed to the Cass County Carousel Association.  She was a past president of the association, and had managed the carousel's day-to-day operations.
     Betty had served as chairman of the 1983 Iron Horse Festival committee, had been a member of the board and past president of the board of governors.  She belonged to the Mary Dykeman Guild at Memorial Hospital and the Logansport Rotary Anns.  She also had been a member and past president of Tri Kappa sorority.
     Betty and her husband had served as hosts for two foreign exchange students through the Rotary Exchange program.
     She was a member of Danville Methodist Church.
     Her hobbies included reading, playing bridge and shopping.
     In addition to her husband, surviving are one daughter, Kristen Steinhilber, a student at Logansport High School; her father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Eleanor Steinhilber, Spruce Creek, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Joan Reid, Titusville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
     One brother, Dick Miles, preceded in death.
     The Rev. Douglas Mankell and the Rev. Dr. Cameron Douglas will officiate at the services.  Burial will be in Danville South Cemetery, Danville.
     Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Jim Engelbrecht's mother, Mary J. Engelbrecht, 89, of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 13, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
     She died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in her residence.
     Born July 8, 1915, in Logansport, she was the daughter of John and Ogle Miller Anderson.
     She was married Oct. 4, 1941, in Logansport, to James W. Engelbrecht, who preceded in death.
     Mrs. Engelbrecht had worked in the cafeterias at Logansport High School, Lincoln and Franklin Schools
for the Logansport School Corporation.
     She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, and enjoyed her many friends, neighbors and family.
     Surviving are one son,
James Engelbrecht Jr., Lebanon; three daughters, Christine Edson and her husband, Stephen, and Mary Lou Grisez, all of Logansport, and Linda Hill and her husband, Robert, Fairborn, Ohio; one brother, Keith Anderson, St. Petersburg, Fla.; one sister, Martisha Knox, Cape Coral, Fla.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Five sisters, one brother and one great-grandson preceded in death.
     The Rev. Marvin Hinkle will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

   Services for Bill Fulmer's father, Harold W. "Bill" Fulmer, 78, of 2016 Spear St., will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
   He died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, in his daughter's residence.
   Born June 6, 1926, in Paden-City, W. Va., he was the son of Harry W. and Mary Elizabeth Hall Fulmer. On Oct. 4, 1953, in Winamac, he was married to Ruth Marie Johnson, who preceded in death on June 24, 2003.
   Mr. Fulmer was a retired window glazier by profession.
   He was a World War II Army veteran, receiving the Bronze Star and was a member of the 87th Infantry Division Association.
   Mr. Fulmer also was a member of the Logansport American Legion Post #60 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3790.
   Growing up in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was an avid Ohio State sports fan. He also coached softball in Logansport.
   He was a man of integrity who worked hard and loved his family.
   Surviving are two daughters, Sonja Heishman and her friend, Cheryl Reed, and Suzie Fulmer, all of Logansport; one son, Bill Fulmer and his companion, Melinda, both of Walton; two stepsons, Jack Helvie and his wife, Barb, of Logansport, and John Helvie and his wife, Marsha, of Kokomo; one brother, Ralph Fulmer and his wife, Joann, of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Dorothy Hoffman, of Salem, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   One granddaughter and one brother preceded in death.
   The Rev. Kenneth Smith will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military rites, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

     John Emmerd's sister, Patricia L Emmerd Rhodes, 61, of Pendleton, IN, died June 26, 2004, in her residence.
     She was born June 29, 1942, in Logansport, to Louis and Mary Middleton Emmerd.
     She lived in Warsaw and Bourbon before moving to Pendleton in 1978. She was a registered nurse and retired from the Madison County Health Department in 1998, after several years of service in immunization and data entry.  Previously she was the service director for Americana Nursing Home, Anderson, and a nurse at Murphy Hospital, Warsaw.  She graduated from Logansport High School in 1960, and from Ball State University School of Nursing.
     Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Rhodes, Warsaw; a sister, Mary Ann Randall, Plainfield; and a brother,
John Emmerd, Westfield, Michigan.
     A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Bright Chapel, Pendleton.
     Calling is one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

    Services for Rosalie Mae Looker Rowe, 64, of Logansport, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Kroeger Funeral Home.  She was the sister of Ruthann Looker Pursch.
    She died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in her residence.
    Born Nov. 25, 1939, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Dorris A. "Dorrie" and Lula F. Cotner Looker.
    A 1958 graduate of Logansport High School, Rosalie was employed at Switches, Inc., Rockwell-Standard Manufacturing, the Logansport American Legion and the Logansport Shrine Club.
    Rosalie was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
    She loved the study of genealogy and "lived for her family."
    Surviving are her life partner of 34 years, Jerry Westlake, Logansport; two sons, Christopher and Shawn Rowe, both of Logansport; three grandchildren, Brandy, Stephanie and Shelby Rowe, all of Logansport; one great-granddaughter, Angel Reynoso, at home; three brothers, Richard Looker and William "Bill" Looker, both of Logansport, and David Looker, Anoka; one sister,
Ruthann Pursch, Logansport; and several nieces and nephews.
    Father Michael McKinney will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

   Services for the mother of Charles Lane, Loris Jenell Scott Lane, 83, of 2077 Burlington Ave., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
   She died at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
   Born May 26, 1920, in Franklin County, Va., she was the daughter of Charles Taylor and Bessie Fisher Scott. She was married Feb. 18, 1942, in Logansport to Charles B. Lane, who survives.
   Mrs. Lane was formerly employed by Essex Corporation. She did upholstery work from 1981 until 1993, and also worked in home health care until March 2003.
   She was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, past president and member of the Logansport Elkettes and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary.
   She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
   Also surviving are one son,
Charles C. Lane and his wife, Dot, Burke, VA; one daughter, Sherry Reynolds and her husband, Jerry, Bonita Springs, Fla.; two adopted daughters, Ruth Ann Lane, Mooresville, and Bonnie Lee Rowe, Logansport; one sister, Susie Pugh, Logansport; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Two brothers, Charles Scott and Johnny Scott; and one sister, Toby Davis, preceded in death.

     Services for Allen Skelton's mother, Mary Agnes "Aggie" Skelton, 81, of Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
     She died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
     Born Feb. 21, 1922, in Montgomery County, Ky., she was the daughter of Thomas and Emma L. Huff Howell. On April 13, 1941, in Peru, she was married to Joseph A. Skelton, who died July 13, 1994.
     Mrs. Skelton worked as an office manager for Farm Bureau Insurance for over 20 years.
     She was a member of River of Life Christian Church, the Elks Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
     She was a Red Cross volunteer for the hospital and enjoyed playing Bingo.
     Surviving are two sons,
Richard Allen Skelton, Logansport, and Dennis Lynn Skelton and his wife, Jenny, Terre Haute; two brothers, Thomas Howell, North Carolina, and Ralph Howell, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Opal Stiver, Monticello, Marie Rush, Dinuba, Calif., and Nan Obenchain, Logansport; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
     One sister, Margaret Iles, preceded in death.
     The Rev. Cameron Douglas and the Rev. John Skelton will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

     Services for Gary Baker's father, Edward L. Baker, 92, 901 E. Main St., Lot 59, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Marocco Funeral Chapel.
     He died at 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in White County Memorial Hospital, Monticello.
     Born Sept. 16, 1911, in Logansport, he was the son of Edward Peter and Elizabeth Miller Baker. He was married to Martha A. McCarter who survives.
     A graduate of St. Joseph Commercial School in Logansport, he was a repairman in the service department of David's Hardware, Logansport, for 27 years. He was a member of All-Saints Catholic Church and of the Logansport Eagles Lodge #323. Mr. Baker was a fifth grade tech in the U.S. Army branch EAME in WWII. He received the Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal and Distinguished Unit Citation. He served in Normandy, Rhineland, Central Europe and Ardennes.
     Surviving with his wife are one son,
Gary T. Baker and his wife, Janet, Chiefland, Fla.; one daughter, Karen Morgan and her husband, Steve, Logansport; and one sister, Margaret Reynolds, Monticello; four grandchildren, Marianne, Jeff, Amy, and Heather; seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Katie, Elizabeth, Amanda, Katie, Kellie, and Jerin.
     Three sisters preceded in death.

   Tom Morris' father died at 10:56 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
   Services for Thomas M. Morris Sr., 85, Logansport, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Calvary Presbyterian Church.
   Born Oct. 18, 1917, in Thornhope, he was the son of Frank T. and Effie Million Morris. On Oct. 23, 1940, he was married in Logansport to Margaret L. Jones, who survives.
   Mr. Morris was the founder and chief executive officer of T.M. Morris Manufacturing Company. He was very active in the community and was a member and past president of the Logansport Rotary Club. He also was a member of the Maxinkuckee Country Club in Culver and the Glen Eagle Country Club in Naples, Fla. He was a life member of the Logansport Elks Lodge.
   A World War II Army veteran who served in Germany, he also served following the war as a commander in the Logansport U.S. Army Reserve Unit. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. After retiring as a major, he became a member of Logansport American Legion Post 60 and the 14th Armored Division Association.
   For more than 50 years, he was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder and trustee.
   Surviving with his wife are one son and daughter-in-law,
Thomas M. Morris Jr. and Ilse Morris, Logansport; two granddaughters, Erika and Kendra Morris; two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Morris and Connie Jones, both of Logansport; one nephew, Robert Shanteau, St. Louis, Mo.; two nieces, Michele Hillis and Melissa Closson, both of Logansport; and cousins.
   Two brothers, John and Ted Morris, and one sister, Betty Jean Lambert, preceded in death.
   The Rev. Douglas Mankell will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military graveside honors, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Richard Gray's mother, Helen L. Gray, 84, of Noblesville, formerly of Logansport, at 10 a.m. today in All Saints Catholic Church.
   She died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Harbour Manor Care Center, Noblesville.
   Born June 8, 1919, in Grand Forks, N.D., she was the daughter of Ole and Julia Olson Thorson. She was married April 19, 1940, in Spokane, Wash., to Charles R. Gray, who died Aug. 24, 1976.
   A homemaker, Mrs. Gray was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
   She enjoyed her pets and especially her family. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
   Surviving are one son,
Richard Gray and his companion, Toni Georgiana, Stuart, Fla.; three daughters, Diane Evans and her husband, Terry, Russiaville, Carolyn Grinkmeyer and her husband, Charles, Atlanta, Ga., and Beverly Obenchain, Fishers; one twin brother, one brother, Elbert J. Thorson, Albuquerque, N.M.; 11 grandchildren, David, Mark and Eric Fowler, Chuck, Brett and Ashley Grinkmeyer, Shawn Gray, Stacey Diehl, Carrie Schafer, Alicia Intagliata and Erica Collins; seven great-grandchildren, Layke Fowler, Benjamin and Samuel Intagliata, Noah Schafer, Aubrey Collins, Thomas Collins III, and Austen Osterbrock; and several nieces and nephews.
   Two brothers, one a twin brother, one sister and one half sister preceded in death.

     Sympathy is extended to classmate Steve Brandt in the death of his father James, 84, of Sebastian, Florida. He died Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Steve now lives in Colorado Springs, CO.
     Mr. James Elson Brandt died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, in Integrated Health Services of Florida, Fort Pierce, Fla.
     Born April 3, 1919, in Cass County, he was the son of Claude and Martha Knight Brandt. He was married to Betty Ayres, of Flora, who died Oct. 26, 1996.
     Mr. Brandt was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, serving in World War II and the Korean conflict as a pilot.
     He retired from ConRail, where he had been employed as an engineer.
     He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shrine Club, Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Sebastian.
     Surviving are one son,
Stephen A. Brandt, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Cheryl C. Hunt, Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Theodore C. Brandt, Fort Wayne; one sister, Phyllis J. Whitcomb, Logansport; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
     Two sisters, Gertrude Grant and Kathleen Dingeldein, preceded in death.
     Burial will be in Fountainhead Memorial Cemetery, Sebastian.

     Larry Hostetler enjoyed time with us in Junior High School. Some of you will remember him. His mother, Ruth, died April 21, 2003. Larry and Sharon live in Fishers, IN.

     She died at 9:17 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at her residence.
     Born Aug. 18, 1923, in Miami County, she was the daughter of Ernst Paul and Ester McCorkle Weaver. She was married on April 16, 1943, in Howard County, to Francis Eugene Hostetler, who died on Nov. 7, 2001.
     A homemaker, Mrs. Hostetler has been employed at the former King's Hatchery as a clerk.
     She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
     Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law,
Larry E. and Sharon Hostetler, Fishers, and Gary L.    Carl Dunbar's father passed away Friday, March 21, 2003, at 10:45 a.m. Friday in Logansport Memorial Hospital.
    Services for Wilbur L. 'Skip' Dunbar, 83, 420 E. Northern Ave., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Gundrum Funeral Home.
    Born Feb. 14, 1920, in Logansport, he was the son of Carl M. and Marie Bell Dunbar. On Jan. 6, 1940, he was married in South Bend to June E. Miller, who survives. He was a retired electrician and plumber.
    A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Logansport American Legion Post 60 and Logansport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790. He served in Manila. He also was a member of the Logansport Eagles Lodge. A member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge, he was a 32nd Degree Member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne.
    Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Michael Nolan, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son and daughter-in-law,
Carl John and Connie Dunbar, West Lafayette; one brother, Wayne, Kokomo; six grandchildren, Mike Nolan, Crystal Lake, Fla., Elizabeth Morales, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Holly Krull, Denver, Colo., Curtis Dunbar, Seattle, Wash., Carla Dunbar, Lafayette, and Cara Klockow, Dearborn, Mich; six great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Shirley Settlemyre, Anita Settlemyre, Carol Rhoades, Charles Settlemyre and Gary Settlemyre; and several great nieces and nephews.     Born June 28, 1950, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Raymond and Ruth E. Nipple Lacey.
    She was employed by Federal-Mogul.
    Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but when they weren't around, her K-9 Cody was always by her side to keep her company.
    Surviving are one daughter, Kami Reynolds, Logansport; her former husband and lifelong friend, Ron Reynolds, Logansport; four sisters, Marcia Appleton and her husband, Harold, Walton, Janet Hall and her husband, Andy, Warsaw,
