Charlie was a high school friend.  We once did a parody of MacBeth as a skit for a talent show at Logansport High School.  It must have been 1961 or 1962.  I later heard that he had been killed in Vietnam.  While in Washington in June of 2002, I found his name on the Wall.  I was moved to tears that here was a friend that I only remembered through goofy high school fun whose name was permanently engraved as a hero who sacrificed his life for all of us here at home.  Thanks, Charlie!

Kienly, 55, of Oceanside, died at her home on Sunday, May 22, 1999, after being diagnosed a year ago with cancer.  Throughout that time, she imparted special strength to all who had any association with her.   All who knew "Gerry" grew immeasurably from that relationship.   She was a no-nonsense kind of person who accepted no substitutes for truth, and she always exhibited a characteristic of unselfish caring and humor that set her apart.
Gerry was born March 9, 1944, in Ft. Knox, Hardin County, Ky., the daughter of George and Helen McBride Kienly.   She graduated from Logansport High School in 1962.      Chad's mother offered the following information about Chad:
After Chad had returned from work and done his exercises (running I think she said) for the day, he took a shower and got ready for bed. It appeared that he suffered a severe heart attack soon after and died on the spot.  His mother, Arlene Little, had been trying to call him all evening, but finally after getting no answer, got someone to take her to Chad's house. She is the one who found him.  Arlene still lives in Logansport.
