LHS Class of '62 (Tipton Elementary School)

 CLASS PROPHECY 1956 TIPTON SCHOOL
From: Mike Parente

Let's take an imaginary trip forward to the year 1970 and see what has happened to the boys and girls of the sixth grade class who finished their work at Tipton School in 1956.

Michael Parente is now a pilot for Trans-World Airlines. So far the only crack-up he has had was when he fell for a pretty stewardess.

Bob Congleton is now a catcher for the New York Yankees. Occasionally in his excitement Bob will take off his cap and catch the ball in it. This always pleases the crowd and the Yanks think he's the best catcher they've had in years.

Sylvia Howard is a soprano at the Metropolitan Opera Co. She has sung in many Shakesperean roles. She has also made several personal television appearances.

Donna Pursch is a tap dancer and tap dancing teacher. She has turned out many talented students including children of her old classmates.

Grace Humerickhouse holds a secretarial position at Tipton School. She is raising a family, too, but loves her outside interests and work.

Richard Schoenradt, owner of the Spencer Park skating rink, now does exhibition skating with his beautiful partner. They have done skating exhibitions all over the United States.

Ann Horton has played in several western movies. She has been rescued by many big name stars and makes a lovely cow girl.

Susie Surface seems to have interests only in her home in the east-end. Susie has decorated all her own rooms and gets a lot of help from her four children.

Willie Smith has had a big season in baseball this year. His batting average was the highest he has ever had, and he promises to do even better next season.

Jim Ellars, who graduated from Law School last year, has opened a swanky law office in the National Bank Building downtown. He turned out to be a very handsome man. So---take your problems to Jim.

Margaret Massey has taken over her Mother's job as girl scout leader. She has the largest group of girls in Tipton's history.

Judy Kuhn, the sixth grade bookworm, is now the chief librarian in the Logansport Public Library. When people aren't rushing in and out, Judy can be found curled up with a good book.

Jack Howell has let his hair grow long. He is a professional wrestler in New York. Asked what his favorite holds are, he says he is not going to give away any of his secrets.

Jerry Marchal is trying to get a position in Astronomy, or star study, in California. No doubt he wants to be near all those lovely Hollywood stars.

Sharon Willis has her own television program and her singing seems to be bringing her a lot of popularity. Here's hoping Sharon goes far in the entertainment world.

Jim Dingeldein is playing piano with a famous band in the Aragon ballroom of Chicago. We think Jim could go far as a soloist. Makes one think of Liberace. All he needs is that sparkling smile and a small candelabra.

Barbara Rance is now prominent in the social activities of Logansport. She is head of the Red Cross and is doing well in that position.

Bob Spencer is now editor in chief of Logansport's two newspapers. He is very experienced in this job, since he has been in the newspaper business since he was a carrier for the paper several years ago.

Pam Holloway hasn't let her clarinet gather dust. She plays at many local affairs. She is also giving lessons to her growing daughter.

Elmer Howard is a quiet bachelor who lives alone and spends most of his spare time hunting and fishing. So far no girl has caught him although he seems to have no particular objections to marriage.

John Busch, a deep sea diver, is still looking for Davy Jones locker. Although he hasn't found it yet, he hasn't given up. Keep trying, John, you may capture a mermaid.

Clarence Flowers and Gloria Lockerman, the famous spelling team, have just won $100,000 on The Big Surprise.

After many years of hard work, Bill Warner has just completed his new book entitled "Warner's Dictionary of the English Language", with the accents on the r's.

John Shaffer, famous newspaper distributor, made headlines recently when he reached a total of 150 million customers on 7 continents.

Mary Jane Lebo has just secured a position as an illustrator for the Girl Scout magazine "American Girl."

Paula Dalton is a famous Powers model. She is now modeling for Dial Soap Ads. What a cool and refreshing job that must be.

Beverly Hunter has just graduated from high school and is married. Her six children are all chubby, but pretty, just like Bev.

Stan Blackman is still struggling through Medical school. The fact that he has gotten this far it seems to prove that he is improving in his English.

Jim Bell is a physical instructor in a local gym. He has produced several Golden Gloves champions.

Bob Parker has just been given a job by the Lucky Strike Co. to smoke cigarettes, play a piano, and sing.

Dick Korreckt, famous nuclear physicist, has just perfected his new invention, the Atomatrone. The only difficulty is that he doesn't know what it is.

John Adams, shortstop for the world famous Kansas City Athletics, has just been beaned by a pitch thrown by Bill Pugh, of the Yankees.

James Kerns, famous track star has just run the mile in 3 minutes and 5 seconds for a new world record.

Multimillionaire Steven Paul Been has just gained 50 million more as some of his uranium stock paid off. It is said Mr. Benn had 25 million shares.

Ronald Brown, in the Novi Special has just won the 500 mile race at Indianapolis. His top speed was 197 miles per hour. He received a trophy and a kiss from movie star Kathy Klise.

Jeff Shaffer has invented a machine which is supposed to bring men back to life. One day he killed himself and told his assistant to bring him back to life, but the machine didn't work.

Bill Jackson is an explorer, and is in Egypt opening undiscovered tombs of ancient mummies.

Virginia Hendrickson is a "be-bop" pianist and is very successful. She is now growing her second set of pigtails.

Sandra Pownall is society editor for a big city newspaper. She travels all over the world to cover the big society news.
