Technically it's two series almost back to back since "Lok Sun" hasn't
been telecast or released and probably won't be released till late this
year or early next year.
It's not unsual to have a series on-air or in-release while work is being
done on another. That's almost always the way the industry works. You can't
count the series still in production.
Why does everyone think that 2 series a year for a leading actress is over-used?
That's usually the number of series a lead actress will appear in anyway
per year. Kenix's new contract says that she is to appear in 4 series in
the next 2 years, do the math.
AN EXAMPLE
Charmaine Sheh
Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre 2000 (vhs release 2000, telecast in HK 2001,
about the time of OTTOO's telecast)
Seven Sisters (2001, about the time of AR3's telecast)
Plain Love 3 (2001, not released, will air soon)
The one about nurses (2001, in production)
I'm not anti-Charmaine, I'm just using her to prove a point. Just her year
2001 on-air output alone will be 3 series, excluding the one in production.
Her roles in the above series aren't small, she's one of the lead actresses,
if not the main lead in these series. HSDS2000 and Seven Sisters weren't
aired that far apart in HK either.
Even if we don't count HSDS2000 since it's international release was in
2000, we're going to have to count Plain Love 3 which is going to be one of
the anniversary series. So it will air soon, not that far apart from Seven
Sisters which just finished it's run on TVB.
So how come no one is complaining?
I'm just wondering why people keep saying Ada is overused when she's only
appeared in two series this year. "Lok Sun" is NOT OUT YET and Ada's not
even shooting any series right now. So how is Ada in danger of being over-used?
