In Response To: Do U Recommend The Serial "A Matter Of Customs"?? *NM* (Is it Worth Renting??? (cindy))

It's one of the worst series I've ever rented. Avoid at all cost.

The storyline involving Lisa Wang and Danny Lee's characters is really very draggy and boring. The relationship between them and Melissa Ng's character is really silly. I feel bad for Melissa Ng cuz it's yet another crappy role for her. Danny's character is not very likeable and his motivations later in the series are very stupid, annoying and not easily understood. Danny Lee who was pretty good in films like The Killer, Organized Crime and Triad Bureau and Walk In looked really bored throughout AMOC.

The relationship between Wong Hei's character, Wong Hei's character's brother and Jessica Hsuen's character is completely stupid too. I don't even understand why Jessica's character felt any initial attraction for Wong Hei's character in the beginning cuz that character is rather annoying in the beginning. After that why Jessica's character bounces from one relationship to another is not well explained and rather abrupt.

I didn't really like Wong Hei's character either. I found him to be rather shallow. Wong Hei's character is caricature like and seems to be intent on being cool rather than logical.

Jade Leung, who was such a fun action actress at the beginning of her career, is wasted in another soft role. Still the relationship between her, Fiona Yuen's character and that guy (don't know his name) is actually the most interesting of the series but is unfortunately not explored in greater detail. Also, the group dynamics of Lisa Wong's customs team which included the unlikeable but interesting Fiona Yuen character and the "soft, please mother me" Jade Leung character is unfortunately not explored either.

The ending is ridiculous and the series seems only intent on building towards a "huge" ending without regard for making any sense at all. I couldn't even find any thematic threads in the series to keep me interested.

I could go on but I think you probably can tell by now how much I detest this series.
