Not necessarily. The police have already announced their presence to the robbers in the lift and they can see what the robbers are doing via the camera. Even if the robbers shot the camera out, the outcome of the situation actually still depends on whether the robbers intend to shoot their way out. Being heavily outnumbered (the HK version of the SWAT team is seen exiting the building after the arrest) and cornered it's very likely that the robbers just made a smart decision and surrendered. It's not unreasonable to think that they surrendered without firing a shot because they have no where to go. I think it's actually an interesting and reasonable end to the situation.

Actually, I like it that they didn't have that clip because it is unnecessary. It's self-explanatory. If the man is at the wedding six months later, it means he survived and she's expressed her thanks. And what does Joyce's character have to be regretful for? He was shot in the line of duty, she might be grateful but there is no reason to regret. Similarly, since we see his son at that wedding celebration we know too that his son has been released and we don't need an emotional scene at the prison gates etc.

I actually think the series could have done with another case because I feel that the resolution of Bobby's and Ada's characters' relationship is a little rushed. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that they would end up together because they already have a deep and trusting friendship and a tender fondness of each other. However, given that her character has just broken up with Winson's character, I feel she needed more time to make the transition. Actually, what I would prefer to see is that Bobby's character wants the relationship but Ada's character isn't ready for the relationship and that's the end. And if they do continue the series then I would like to see them develope that storyline. And even if they don't continue the series, it's not an unreasonable ending.

What I find a little regretful about TVB series is that they make most of them as though there is no next installment so everything has to be wrapped up nicely. If they knew that they were going to do an AR4, I think if they were smart they would have left Ada's and Bobby's characters' relationship unresolved and given them time to develope their relationship in the next installment. I would also not have Joyce's and Marco's characters reconcile and continue their storyline into the next installment. Too bad, they never know if they are going to make another installment, missed opportunities there.
