(favourite roles category, other categories not open for voting as of 19th Oct 2001)

DIE HARD ADA CHOI FANS WHO CAN'T READ CHINESE, READ ON. :-)

IMPORTANT: You will need tvb.com online membership.  Sign up if you  don't already have one.  There are both English and Chinese versions of the registration form.   Here is the url:
http://app.tvb.com/member/registration/regform.asp

STEP ONE

Go to the tvb.com voting site.
url:  http://www.tvb.com/anniversary
         OR
        http://tvcity.tvb.com/special/anniversary2001/rolevote/index.html

(I suggest you copy and past the address into a new browser window so you  can reference this page as you vote.)

When you get to the site you will see the following as your opening page. (be patient, graphics heavy, load time long.)

opening page

NOTE

See the rectangle on the left of the page?
That's a floating rectangle which follows you as you scroll down the page.

The picture will change depending on which picture your mouse touches.

STEP TWO

Next, go to the picture of the artist you want which is Ada Choi of course :-) and click that picture.

step two

NOTE

Go to the role you like and click once so the the picture changes and becomes clearer compared to the rest.
(compare circle picture to the rest of the picture.)

It doesn't matter what the picture in the floating rectangle looks like as long as the smaller picture is highlighted.

Ada is in the running for 3 roles, make sure you pick all three.

The other two are as shown in the image below.

pick ada - ottoo, ar3

TO REPEAT:
She is in the running for 3 roles, they are...
026 - Ada as Jackie in HH2
079 - Ada as Ah Yee in OTTOO
108 - Ada as Ah Zhi in AR3

Make sure you pick 3.

STEP THREE

You have to pick 10 roles to get the "vote button".  So go ahead and pick another 7 roles.

step 3

NOTE:

The circled thumbnails represent some of the 10 roles you've picked.  I'm not suggesting you pick these roles except for the three Ada roles. :-).

The thumbnails you picked should all be highlighted and clearer than the rest of the thumbnails.

After you've pick 10, the vote button appears, click it.

STEP FOUR

After you click the "vote" button, you should see the following login page.

login page

First fill in your details.

If you are from Hong Kong, fill in your ID number.  If you aren't from HK and don't have a HK ID number, just fill in A123456 (or whatever alphabet/number you like).

You probably should fill in the same telephone number you used in your registration information but it's probably not absolutely necessary.

1) Check that the thumbnail pictures are the people you want to vote before you vote. (my selection is just an example)
2) This is your "VOTE" button.  Once you hit this button, you've sent your vote in.

3) This is a button that'll send you to the tvb.com membership registration page if you have NOT yet registered.  When you get there, there is a button that says "ENGLISH."  Click that and it'll bring you to the registration page in English.

FINALLY

You should get a pop-up window that confirms that your vote was successfully accepted.  This is what it looks like...

pop-up window - thank you for voting

FINAL WORDS

Don't take it too hard if she doesn't win anything.  The awards are probably fixed anyway and there are a ton of people that may win even if they aren't fixed.  It doesn't mean Ada isn't good, it just means that those that didn't vote for her don't have any taste and they don't know how to appreciate her. :-)

Of course I would like her to win at least something because I feel that any award is an affirmation of a person's work.  However, even the Oscars are mostly about lobbying, not who's really good; what more the TVB awards.  Also, even thought these awards are more important than your regular online poll, it's still not one of the bigger ones like the Golden Horse or the HK Film Awards or the awards from the HK Film Critics Assn or the Berlin Awards etc.  So if she doesn't win anything, it's not the end of the world.  :-)

Enjoy.

P.S. There shouldn't be any mistakes.  If there are, please email me at loksun_2001@yahoo.com
DO NOT email me about browser problems or computer problems etc, I can't solve those.
