THE GRACE PAGE

Some of these aren’t exact quotes, but these lines show how interesting and complex a character Grace is.

I'm all alone.  Do you even realize that?

Sometimes people just aren't who you need them to be, at like a certain moment, and unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it.

Boys are so naive. I mean, sometimes you have to wonder how they even live.

Sometimes I wonder why I ever hope for anything.

Spencer - So what's the unity effect?
Grace - It's when....you know.
Spencer - Is it like when all the incidents kind of contribute to the effect of the story, even, you know, the most seemingly insignificant one.  Or something.

Grace:  Your baby's going to come out with painted fingernails.
Zoe:  And yours is going to come out holding a copy of War and Peace.

Lily:  Is it about that boy?
Grace:  No, Mom, it was about Bosnia.

Lily:  Grace, will you wipe it up please?
Grace:  Is my name Cinderella?

Carla wants Grace to skip class.  Her response:

Grace:  I have English and I think I might actually get something
out of it.

Oh, please.
Beautiful photo. Thanks Zacky.
"Good writing and performance will always outshine flash and sizzle,"
says executive producer Edward Zwick of this quietly excellent drama.
Contrary to that "parents just don't understand" mentality, Once finds
parallels between its two generations:

The single parents "have to almost
reinvent themselves...in a whole other life, and that's exactly what adolescens
is," says Julia Whelan who plays an anxious freshman.  She and the other
characters go one-on-one with the camera a la The Real World
"confessional"-ironically, with more authenticity.

Thanks Zacky.
