The Tilling
of the
Garden Of Life
By Lisa Ann Sorlie

There I stand
at the threshold of my garden.
All that has been
visible to me were weeds
that took o hold of the
essence of my livelihood.

Well, as I prepare to till my garden
I step ever so softly
not to disturb seeds of
love that have been sown
by so many in my journey.

Tomorrow is now beginning
to take meaning anew for me.
As I will go out and cultivate
this garden first
by sifting throughout its soil
to remove any deep rooted weeds.

To begin to replenish the garden
with a rainbow of colors that
light up the night time sky
against an iridescent moonscape.

It's hue arouse blazing in coloring
as its warmth from the
late time spring sun bursting
with light and energy once again.
I tend carefully
and gently and search for the
smallest wonder of nature as it is in
the smallest miracles
we find the biggest signs
of love and wonder of life.

Yes, I am still on a winding journey
but gradually, I feel that this road
will lead me to a garden bursting
with life, love, faith and courage
to face whatever
struggles I may encounter.

Oh yes the fear is still very real,
yet a part of my heart
is now beginning to mend.
Someday this butterfly will soar
through this garden
and bring forth
the most heart warming
gifts of life to those in need.
