The Silver and The Grey

The Silver and The Grey

Though time will gently lay
the Silver in your hair,
Yet always and forever
will you be Beautiful and Fair.
Tho we may trod the span of years,
from color into grey;
You have never been more Beautiful
than you now are today.

Tho some may use a color wash
to stem the look of years,
Yet ease your tender,
loving hearts, and put away your fears;
For yet the color once we had,
when all of us were young,
Still shines as brightly in our hearts,
as all the songs we've sung.

Give to youth the harder tasks,
that we once burdened strong,
For ours is now the well-earned rest,
And laughter, joy, and song;
And stand you proud,
and straight and tall,
for proudly you can say,
You have lived the span
and earned the right
to the Silver and the Grey

Oh - some may yearn for other tones,
of brown or black or red,
I think that in my heart and mind,
I love other tones instead;
And I know that time is timelessness,
and women all are fair,
who have been so blessed and honored,
with grey and silver hair.
