Nobody can say Ma's a sex symbol. She's a free whellin' career gal with lots of talent; like tire repairin', outhouse movin', hourseshoein', plowin', with or without a mule, and lots of other things.
It's spring planting time in the hills, and Ma has the new ground about ready for the tomato plants. Pa is busy keeping track of the time so that Ma won't forget to go get dinner ready for him and the kids.

Wash Day in Missouri
We're not afraid of work around here. In fact the whole family can sit and watch Ma work all day, but when supper is on the table we all get busy.
It's springtime and Pa already caught spring fever, off came the red flannels. Ma is giving the kids their annual bath. Lem and Zeke are sneakin' off to the creek before it comes their time.
A burst of civic pride, and other conditions, have caused the outdoor library to be relocated. Business as usual during the move of course. Ma thought a bright color might make it easier to see the building when the coustomers were under stress.
