The RB Crushers! | ||||||||||||||||||
Made by Robert Baraban, these grippers are top of the line. While the standard heavy-duty grippers will do for the standard grip trainer, the RB Crushers are for the true Grip fanatic. Hand made with quality and care by Mr. Baraban, nothing beats these grippers. Nothing. Comparing these grippers to any other mass-produced gripper is impossible. They are not even in the same catagory. There are three great factors to these grippers. 1). The Quality! They are hand made by Robert Baraban. In his off time (this is a hobby, not his full-time job) he crafts these incredible grippers with a true passion to help the grip world. On his grippers, you will be hard pressed to find mis-matched handles, un-aligned handles, loose handles, or dangerously low-set handles, all of which greatly improve the "gripability" of these grippers. 2). The Variety! Nowhere else can you find custom brass handles, steel handles either plain, chromed, or black chromium plated. He also makes aluminum handles or solid black chromium handles. You can also customize your spring with black-chromium plating, silver chrome, or a plain spring. Finally, you can have them engraved on the bottom of the handles. This is a quality engraving, not just a shallow etching. Also, this engraving can be filled in with black or color, depending on the gripper and how you wish it to look 3). The Strength! The biggest problem with crushing the IronMind #3 gripper, is the gap between the #2 and the #3. The RB grippers are ideal to fill the gap with three grippers between the strength of the #2 and #3. There is also one between a #1 and #2, and one a bit harder than a #3. If this wasn't enough, you can add even more variety by ordering a custom width of your gripper, by either makeing them more narrow (easier) or wider (harder). Again, the care towards making a quality product is amazing. |

Here is my first set of Rober Baraban grippers. At the top are his plain aluminum grippers, the one on the left is a 260ip and the right one is a narrow-set 300ip. The first two in the second row are matching black grippers at 160ip and 210ip. Solid black-chromium handles. On the bottom left is the brass 240ip gripper. Look closer and see the engraving too. Deep, quality and professional. He can also fill in a black engraving with white, or a lighter engraving with black, bringing out the lettering. Something you'll never pic up from a picture alone is the WEIGHT of these grippers! They are not aluminum, but instead Steel and Brass. The weight is easily 3 times a normal gripper, and the feeling of this solid object in your hand is impressive by itself. In fact, a friend of mine wouldn't ever have considered buying an aluminum gripper, but as soon as he felt the heft of the steel gripper, he said "I want one of these!". |

Here we have the total silver chrome gripper, one of Roberts best looking grippers. Chromed from handle to spring and engraved on the bottom of each handle. Another gripper "too nice to crush". On the right, this one may be "too nice to crush", but it's also "too hard to crush", and by crush I mean by crushing in anyway possible. This is the WT R.B. Crusher, the "Worlds Toughest" gripper. I tried a two-hands chest crush and I believe I may have moved it 0.5 cm. A wonderfully hand-crafted novelty, and great addition to the gripper collection.

Recently Robert has been able to fill in the engravings for better contrast, seen with black-on-gold, and white-on-black. Gripper ends can also be polished to a mirror like finish, as seen on the golden gripper. Sharp, indeed.
The Bottom Line: Robert Baraban's grippers are the best. Uncontested. If you are perhaps interested in trying out some grippers, stick to some cheaper ones, but if you are serioius about grippers and grip training, your life will not be complete with out at least one of these remarkable grippers. I have nothing to gain by saying these things and am not affiliated with Mr. Baraban. I have just found a product that has blown me away, and I want to share with others the joy I found in these products. Think what you may, but after you see one in person, feel it's weight in your hand, and experience the quality, then and only then will you understand. |
