Welcome to the official website of LAS Web Creations, an independent website design company located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Actually, LAS Web Creations isn't a company at all, in fact, it involves just one person creating websites regarding topics the editor enjoys.  LAS Web Creations does not receive any money for the upkeep of its websites or for advertising.  It's just a hobby the editor enjoys doing, hoping that the visitors to the variety of LAS Web Creation Websites enjoy them equally as much.  On this page, you'll get a generalized description of the websites that are under the LAS Web Creation helm, what goes into the process of creating the sites, and a little information regarding the owner of LAS Web Creations.
LAS Web Creations began on July 4, 1998, but at that time, was not referred under any title.  That same date was also the beginning of our oldest and second most successful website - The Upper Michigan Informer.  Back then, it was known as the Great White North Web Page, a title that seemed relevant at the time, but Alaska was known more for being the great white north, thus, a title change was necessary to reflect what the site was really all about.  From that point on, it's been referred to as the Upper Michigan Informer.  People from all across the country have visited the website, looking for information regarding camping, hunting, and recreational opportunities during each of the four diverse Upper Michigan seasons.  People have also wanted to find out more information regarding the Upper Peninsula's history and whether there is any available real estate on the market for purchase.  The website has gotten overwhelming support from a wide variety of people who really believes the site tells the true tale of the Upper Peninsula's legend.  If you're interested about the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, then look no further than the Upper Michigan Informer.

The Chatham, Michigan Information Page was the latest in a string of websites completed by LAS Web Creations.  LAS Web Creations is based out of Chatham, Michigan, which is a small town located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Seeing as Chatham didn't yet have a website of its own, and the editor wanted to get the town's presence known more on the web, it sounded like a great idea for a new project.  In 2001, the Chatham, Michigan Information Page became a reality.  It's not as popular as the other two LAS Web Creation websites, but of course, Chatham is a small town which many do not know about.  The page is basically for current residents and former residents who once made Chatham their home for a period of time.  Many people from all across the country familiar of the town have found the Chatham, Michigan Information Page to be a great source for history, pictures, and Chatham business information.  It also acts as a mini-reunion for a lot of people that haven't been to Chatham in a long time.  If you think this website would be interesting to you, be sure and check out the Chatham, Michigan Information Page.

With two highly successful and respected websites under its belt, LAS Web Creations began working on a third project late in 2003.  The editor of LAS Web Creations became interested in a new animated television show on the Nickelodeon Cable Channel called 'All Grown Up.'  The show was actually a spin-off of the highly acclaimed Rugrats cartoon which ran on Nickelodeon for over 10 years and still continues to air on Nick.  The website would include a variety of picture galleries, character information, episode guides, and information regarding voice-work and animation.  One by one, web pages were gradually added to the overall site.  One thing nice about this particular website is that it involves a new television program that recently premiered, and it looks as if it'll be on for many more seasons.  When new episodes air, the website experiences it's highest hit totals.  Within just a few days of being on-line, Luke's All Grown Up Fansite took off with a variety of vistors from around the world stopping by the new site.  It's the newest website of the four, but it has so far surpassed the hit totals of both the Chatham, MI Information Page and the Upper Michigan Informer.  As long as All Grown Up is on the air, then Luke's All Grown Up Fansite will continue to be a major source of information for the fan's of the Rugrats clan.  If you are interested in the Rugrats and All Grown Up, be sure and stop by Luke's All Grown Up Fansite.

If you thought it stopped there, well think again.  LAS Web Creations currently has the three websites, but the company is also involved in other internet projects as well, including message boards.  In fact, LAS Web Creations has three message board projects.  One of them is The Three Amigos Internet Cafe, a message board that specializes in discussing television, game show, and lifestyle topics.  Originally, the Three Amigos Internet Cafe was called Game Shows From A to Z and was generally just a game show and off-topic board.  But as the popularity of the board increased with time, new board categories were added for the people that weren't game show fans. Currently, 110 members are registered to the board with many more guests looking in on the board daily.  Our other message board is called Animatoons and it is by far our most popular web project.  Our newest endeavor is a message board for the Disney cartoon "American Dragon: Jake Long."  If you are interested in any of these message boards, check out the links below:

On most occasions, a website is not completed in one day, unless all of the information and pictures have already been compiled and just the actual design work needs to be completed.  Even then, a lot of time and effort goes into the design work alone.  From the very first day in 1998, I've always been comfortable with using Geocities as the host of all four of my websites.  For one thing, it's a free service and as long as you can put up with the ads, then it's an easy service to work with.  In the very beginning, I did not know a whole lot about HTML code...well actually, I didn't know any HTML code.  So I had to do some fast learning.  Luckily, Geocities had a brief tutorial on basic HTML code, which is all I needed.  There was more that I would've liked to have known, but the basics was all that I could handle, so I had to live with how the website looked.  Eventually, I became very familiar with Geocities' Page Builder program, which I use for the creation of every one of my websites now.  It's a very easy tool to use, and it allows for pictures to be included within the text and not just a separate entity of it's own.  You can center text, align it to the left, or make it line up with any pictures that you have on the site.  It's a very easy program to use, and it's makes a webpage look very professional, and ever since I've used Page Builder, all I've been hearing is compliments regarding the design of the individual sites.

When I have an idea for a particular website, a lot of planning goes into the structure of the site.  I need to know what kind of information has to go on the site and whether it'll just be a page with information or a page with a lot of pictures.  Also, I need to locate places where I can get the pictures for the site.  If the pictures I need have to come from the television, then I need to allow myself enough time to capture pictures from the television (which are then resized and saved to my computer) and then upload them onto the website and ready to use whenever I need them.  If there's specific information that I need for the creation of the site, then I need to do on-line research until I have sufficient information for the site.  Usually though, I am well educated in the topics in which the websites are about, so a lot of the information you see comes from the top of my head, if not from a source which acts as a refresher of my memory.  If I have all of the information compiled and the pictures already uploaded, then it takes anywhere from two to four hours for the new website to be on-line.  Generally, only minor revisions are made to the page if some information changes, or if the site needs a make-over.  Each of the homepages get a new look every couple of years, and new websites are gradually added if I have a stellar idea for the new website.

The future for LAS Web Creations looks very strong.  At this moment, a fifth website is not planned, but never say never.  Right now, I am concentrating my efforts on the newest website of the four - Luke's All Grown Up Fansite.  But that does not mean that the remaining websites are taking a backseat.  As I said before, when I come up with a new idea for each of the particular sites, then new pages will be added.  Presently, Luke's All Grown Up Fansite has the most potential in becoming an overwhelming success for LAS Web Creations, thanks in part to the animated series being so popular in just it's first season.  My ideas for new webpages are directed at Luke's All Grown Up Fansite, but you can always expect minor changes and additions made to the other thee LAS Web Creation Websites.
Hello everyone.  Thank you for your interest in LAS Web Creations.  It's hard to believe I've been working on websites for about eight years now, and it's not even a steady job for me!  It's all a hobby, and I am hopeful that everyone is getting as much enjoyment out of visiting these websites as I am enjoying creating them.  First my name is Luke and I am currently a writing major and a journalism minor attending Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.  So no, I am not taking website design or computer science (although in the beginning of my college career, I was a network computing major - but that did not pan out).  Anyway, I have about a year left of college before I graduate and make it into the real world.  I have my sights set on becoming a journalist, hopefully for one of the local papers.  If not a newspaper, then I wish to work for one of the local businesses in some sort of capacity, hopefully public relations.  Businesses always need writers for certain publications, and I am optimistic that I can find one.  As the famous saying goes, expect the unexpected.  As for particular hobbies, well I think you know what one of them is.  As for the others, I like to ski in the winter, I enjoy watching sports, playing basketball, hiking, biking, and doing minor carpentry work.

This concludes the information involving LAS Web Creations.  If you would like any additional information involving me or LAS Web Creations, please contact me via e-mail.  My e-mail address can be found below.  I hope you enjoy each and every one of the websites that falls under the LAS Web Creations banner.  Thanks for your interest!
